Actor Ifnaz, gearing up for a scene and chilling with the tech crew, recalls that he couldn't help but crack up when he caught Tedry busting out those John Travolta "Stayin' Alive" moves. Or so he thought. Turns out, Tedry wasn't trying to bring disco back--he was actually getting a shocking surprise from a light that was supposed to be fixed. Talk about an electrifying performance!
In the film's most intense scene towards the end, co-starring with Zoya, Ahmed Easa became so overwhelmed by the emotion that he genuinely broke down in tears multiple times and was unable to continue shooting. Director Tedry had to halt production for an hour, providing Easa with some much-needed isolation and consolation before they could proceed.
Originally envisioned as a TV series in 2012, "Lasviyas..." experienced several pre-production interruptions due to director Tedry's family commitments.
Producer Ibrahim Rasheed approached Tedry in 2014 to direct a screenplay, which was declined as Tedry preferred to work on his own concepts.
By late 2014, Tedry verbally agreed to direct a film of his choosing after Ibrahim Rasheed offered him the chance, leading to the eventual direction of "Lasviyas."
