This week had some seriously fantastic episodes! After the You Got Served they delivered another great episode, though not as good as the last. I think this episode was a bit more mixed, in the way that there were some outrageously funny moments, but also some weaker moments too. All around though this had some of the season's highest highs so far.
The pranks were mostly excellent once again. The people getting pranked got so heated. The first one was one of my favorites with Eric eating the "wheat paste" and putting cinnamon on it, and then when the guy on the bike crashes next to them and Eric starts pissing on him. I don't know what it is with the pee these episodes but it has been seriously hilarious. I've been loving how elaborate the pranks have been this season, with the perfect escalation. Unfortunately the only part of the episode that didn't work for me at all was Lizzo Up. It just felt too forced, Lizzo doesn't have the finesse Eric has with these street pranks. Fortunately the next prank was another great one with Eric being a news reporter trying to force his big break. The audience reactions here were truly something special. With the last prank once again the public were the MVP. I love how Eric got them to get help him, and get ice cream, WITH SPRINKLES!
The interviews were great once again. Dermot Mulroney was another good guest. I loved how they tried to push him to say some questionable things, which made him look a bit bad. While I didn't like Lizzo Up I like how it was incorporated into the interview. The pacing this season has been so fast with things happening left and right, and I think that will be great for rewatching because certain things might've gone over your head on first watches. Blannibal was thankfully funnier this episode. Just shushing him was pretty funny. That kiss at the end was perfect.
I think what is so great about this season is that they've figured out how to perfectly escalate each prank or interview. When they would've stopped before, now there's another layer to the prank, which makes it extra hilarious. Diane's interview was a perfect example, white it was short and concise it just perfectly escalated the situation to the point where I started coughing from pure laughter. Diane's facial expression change from confusion to disgust was absolute gold. It seemed like she knew what to expect but Eric escalated it to such a level. I loved how Eric seems to be exposing these guests, like asking about cocaine. It's also great to see Hannibal's brother back, I hope to see a bit more done with Hannibal's exit. Just that whole section of the episode with Diane is one of my favorites so far this season with Omarion, It almost had me in tears. It honestly carried the episode for me. I think it's better than the second episode but not as good as the first or third. These episodes have been hard to rate though, I really want to give this a 9, but I do think some of the other episodes deserve the 9 more. These have been some excellent episodes, we aren't even half way through the season, but I am very satisfied. Definitely worth the sleep deprivation it's causing me because they air these so late.
