CAB Touched Me There!
wildsidecinema12 June 2010
Christopher Alan Broadstone's short films are exactly what one might expect to see coming from an auteur-in-the-making. His story, colors & dialog set him apart from the usual dreary horror "filmmaking" herd we've become too familiar (and bored) with. Words like "visionary," "savage" and "arthouse exploitation" immediately come to mind when watching CAB's shorts. He has an eye for color like Argento's Suspiria, a taste for the disturbing like Craven's Last House on the Left and an understanding of claustrophobic tension like Polanski's Repulsion.

One question kept echoing in my mind over and over again while watching 3 Dead Girls is, "Why the hell hasn't somebody given this guy a shot and a budget?" While CAB deserves every bit of praise and credit for these minor masterpieces, actor Tony Simmons, prominently featured in each short, is without a doubt one of the most versatile actors I've seen in years. Bravo! Honorable mention should definitely be given to cinematographers Stewart M. Eastman & Schwarz Nipfargen for their fantastic work on these shorts. They were able to capture the colors, lightning and imagery perfectly.

Fantastic DVD containing 3 short films of pure genius
andyrose_tx2 May 2008
Three Dead Girls is a compilation DVD of Christopher Alan Broadstone's short horror films, My Skin, Human No More, and Scream For Me.

My Skin is a highly stylized film about Death's devious little plan to deal with a murderer who is butting in on his business. Human No More finds a detective locked away in a basement, struggling with a murder case. And then there's the dark and deeply disturbing Scream for Me, which screened at the New York Horror Film Festival a few years ago, finds a serial killer falling victim to another serial killer.

These films have been awarded over 30 international film festivals and 15 "Best Of" awards, including "Best Short Film – NYC Horror Film Festival.

I saw all three of these films at Texas Frightmare Weekend in 2007 and immediately became a huge fan of the films and of Christopher Alan Broadstone's work. He's genius. Scream For Me is my favorite of the three. Chris captures the darkest side of man in an extremely brutal 20 minutes.

The behind the scenes extras on this DVD are so good and so informational that they can serve as a "How to make a short film" documentary.
