Most viewers are likely to find the title character, a talking lavender octopus, far scarier than the little green men who transport him to a previously unknown Planet X closer to Earth than our own moon. Being a squid rather than an educated human tyke, Mr. Tentacles fails to quiz his hosts about how long Planet X has been in its current position, whether it is self-propelled, and if so, is it on a collision course with the third rock from the sun?
