It’s hard to believe that “The Masked Singer” is already up to season 11. This edition of the reality competition show kicked off on March 6 and the premiere was packed full of surprises, culminating in the unmasking of the Book. He turned out to be funnyman Kevin Hart.
While Hart played it for laughs when he sang “So Sick” by Ne-Yo, the other four celebrities on “The Masked Singer” premiere are all hoping to make it through to the finals in May. The best singer of the bunch based on those first performances is Goldfish.
We’ve watched Goldfish cover of “Vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo. And we’ve taken another look at her clues package. We think we’ve cracked the code as to Goldfish’s true identity. Keep reading as we have all your “The Masked Singer” spoilers, including the answer to the question, “Who is Goldfish?”

On paper, filmmaker Steven Spielberg and novelist Roald Dahl couldn't be more different. Spielberg has been known as a sentimental filmmaker, expertly presenting many heartwarming fables throughout his career. Thanks to films like "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial," "Always," "Hook," and "War Horse," one can see the optimist in Spielberg shining through. His films tend to end well for their protagonists, and his little kid characters experience growth and wonderment, even as they survive mayhem. Yes, Spielberg could be intense and bitter at times, but he's hardly known for his cynicism. Roald Dahl, meanwhile, might be defined by his cynicism. In Dahl's children's stories, the world is a bleak and aggressive place, full of abusive adults and systems designed to exploit children. "Matilda" takes place at the world's most miserable school. "James and the Giant Peach" begins with the eponymous character being horrible abused by his two aunts. It's a...

"Beauty and the Beast" truly is a tale as old as time, and has been retold in countless ways, like the Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton TV series of the same name, the Fran Drescher comedy "The Beautician and the Beast," the teen rom-drama "Beastly," or even in an episode of "Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater." Recently, legendary Japanese filmmaker Mamoru Hosoda delivered "Belle," a magnificent animated sci-fi fantasy film that thrusts the tale out of the world of old and into the techno future.
The story takes place in the not-so-distant future where the internet has evolved into a legitimate virtual reality called U, where avatars are created by users' scanned biometric information. A teenager named Suzu creates an avatar named Belle who becomes a pop superstar, but everything changes when her virtual concert is interrupted by the seemingly undefeatable fighter The Dragon (or "The Beast"), who she quickly becomes infatuated with.

Prepare to feel old: It's been 10 years since we've seen either Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen onscreen. For her part, Ashley's last roles, though minor, were in 2009's The Jerk Theory and in Casey Affleck's 2010 film I'm Still Here, while Mary-Kate last appeared as the witchy character Kendra in Beastly. The fantasy film came out exactly a decade ago on March 4, 2011, and starred Alex Pettyfer and Vanessa Hudgens in a reimagining of Beauty and the Beast. Even though the Olsen twins haven't released a new movie in years, fans remain just as obsessed with the actresses-turned-fashion-designers to this day. So what is...

George R.R. Martin is safe. He wants you to know that in his new blog post about his personal situation during the coronavirus pandemic. On his still amusingly antiquated website, Martin penned a new entry titled “Strange Days” where he revealed that he is taking the threat of Covid-19 very seriously considering his age and health, and that he has entered self-isolation.
“For those of you who may be concerned for me personally… yes, I am aware that I am very much in the most vulnerable population given my age and physical condition,” Martin wrote. “I am off by myself in a remote isolated location, attended by one of my staff, and I’m not going in to town or seeing anyone.”
He also added that it has been a strange boon for his work on The Winds of Winter. “Truth be told, I am spending more time in Westeros than in the real world,...

Barcroft Studios, the British producer behind Netflix series Amazing Interiors, has been 100% acquired by publisher Future in a deal worth £23.5M ($30.3M) in cash and shares.

Do you remember when Hollywood was obsessed with reimaging fairy tales? If you managed to blot out those dark years, you probably will not remember such classics like “Red Riding Hood,” “Beastly,” or “Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.” To be fair, not every film that emerged from that era was horrible—admit it, “Snow White and the Huntsman” wasn’t that bad—but Alice Waddington’s debut feature “Paradise Hills” could count itself among the lesser entries spawned from that trend.

Hell-bent upon finding evidence of ancient monsters in the modern world (often by exploring how they continue to be reflected in the raw stuff of human nature), Larry Fessenden launched his filmmaking career with a Frankenstein story, and he’s been working his way back to the subject ever since. Traces of Mary Shelley’s mad science can be found in many of the low-budget horror movies that his Glass Eye Pix has produced since 1985, and they’re even more apparent in the ones that he’s directed: From the ecological hubris of “The Last Winter” to the monster-is-us mythicism of “Wendigo” and the selfishness that percolates beneath all of his narratives and bubbled to the surface in “Beneath,” each of his features has dissected a severed limb from Shelley’s foundational story.
With “Depraved” — which is perhaps both his least expensive and most ambitious movie — Fessenden sews his entire body of work together.

With his evocative music, it was just a matter of time before Deadmau5 moved into film soundtracks, and today Netflix and Constantin Film announced that the artist/producer/DJ’s first film score will be for “Polar,” a Jonas Akerlund-directed film slated for release next year.
According to the announcement, the film is based on the Dark Horse action noir graphic novel “Polar: Came From the Cold,” by Victor Santos. Top assassin Duncan Vizla (aka The Black Kaiser) is settling into retirement when his former employer marks him as a liability to the firm. Against his will, he finds himself back in the game going head to head with an army of younger, faster, ruthless killers who will stop at nothing to have him silenced.

Less than decade ago, at the height of Hollywood’s infatuation with Young Adult fantasy franchises Alex Pettyfer found himself in the spotlight as the “next big thing.” He was cast in the Michael Bay produced “I Am Number Four” and in CBS Films’ “Beastly” opposite everyone’s favorite Disney star Vanessa Hudgens. Needless to say, neither movie launched a franchise. Steven Soderbergh ended up giving him a gift, however, with “Magic Mike,” a commercially friendly indie made for just $7 million that became a massive critical and box office hit earning $113 million in the U.S.

It seems that the conversation around making the Oscars more inclusive and diverse is an endless conversation. Perhaps one of the statistics that oftentimes goes unnoticed is the Academy’s vast underrepresentation of female cinematographers in the best cinematography category — which has been around since the inception of the awards show.
This year we might just have a breakthrough with Mandy Walker and her work on the Theodore Melfi-directed Hidden Figures — which stars three black actresses in the main roles: Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monáe. General audiences won’t see the film until January 13, 2017, but critics are starting to see it this Friday.
In the history of the Oscars — all 88 ceremonies that are in the books so far — no women have won for best cinematography, mostly because none have ever been nominated in the category.

Even if you're not a big reader of young adult fiction, you may have seen the advertisements for the new Chloë Grace Moretz movie The 5th Wave and suspected that it looks like the kind of movie that was adapted from a Ya franchise. All the elements are there: a post-apocalyptic dystopia, a winsome female protagonist who stands up to become the world's champion, an imperiled younger sibling and the winning combination of light science fiction and teenaged angst. The 5th Wave is the first in a trilogy of books by Rick Yancey about a group of underage rebels fighting off an alien invasion.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will not reprise their shared role of Michelle Tanner in "Fuller House," the upcoming Netflix series follow-up/revival of the beloved ABC sitcom "Full House".
Executive producer Robert L. Boyett said in a statement: "Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family. It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House."
Although much of the original cast is set to return, the Olsen twins' participation had long been in question. The twins got their start on the series as kids, and turned their fame into an empire of direct-to-video movies and specials with more recent endeavours involving fashion lines.

Awards season is heating up, and one of the potential Best Actress contenders, believe it or not, may be Jennifer Aniston. The actress rarely goes down the indie road, but when she has before (The Good Girl), it's resulted in some solid work. This time she's getting plenty of acclaim for Cake, a film that strips down Aniston to being a plain, scarred, troubled woman, angry at the world and everyone around her. And there's an interesting supporting cast here too with Anna Kendrick, Sam Worthington and Adriana Barraza appearing as well. The buzz indicates the film may not be as good as Aniston's performance, but we'll see. Here's the first trailer for Daniel Barnz's Cake, originally from ABC News: Cake is directed by Daniel Barnz (Beastly, Won't Back Down) from a script by Patrick Tobin (No Easy Way). With early, festival-driven campaigns already ramping up (see: Julianne Moore in “Still Alice”) and sleeper candidates generating buzz (major question marks like Amy Adams in “Big Eyes”), the 2015 Best Actress race is tightening up. Words has arrived through the wire that Cinelou Films’ distribution fledgling Cinelou Releasing has picked up the actress’ dramedy vehicle “Cake” for release before the end of the year. The film played to mixed reviews at September’s Toronto Film Festival, but clearly Cinelou bigwigs Mark Canton and Courtney Solomon see awards potential. A press release indicates that the movie will have a one-week qualifying run in December before rolling out in January. Toronto — Chances are that anyone who saw Daniel Barnz's "Phoebe in Wonderland" at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival has been wondering if we'd ever see "that" talented director again. In the years since, he tried to jump on the Ya wagon with the misfire "Beastly" and got terribly lost in the studio world with 2012's "Won't Back Down." He may still be a little rough around the edges, but the Barnz who showed so much promise with "Phoebe" is back with the new drama "Cake," which premiered Monday at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. And as much as "Cake" is something of a comeback for Barnz, it's really on most people's radar for being a rare dramatic turn for Jennifer Aniston, and she doesn't disappoint. We're first introduced to Aniston's character, Claire, at a chronic pain support group trying to cope with the suicide of one of their members, Nina...

With a whole year to go until “Fifty Shades of Grey” is slated to hit theaters, at least we have our first look at Dakota Johnson's Anastasia Steele.
The “Beastly” babe is featured on the movie’s official Facebook page along with the caption, “See you in a year. Happy Valentine’s Day! #FiftyShades.”
Meanwhile, Ms. Johnson told press that mentally and emotionally preparing herself for the challenging role was pretty tough.
"[I did] a lot of getting into the character's head -- Ana's headspace -- kind of before she meets Christian. So it's a lot of reading, which I love. But she's an English major, so that's kind of boring."
Thankfully the filming process has gone quite well- Dakota noted, "It's been a very smooth, fun and creative experience. I think going into something like this you kind of have all these different fears of what it could be like,...

If you were one of those people who did a little head scratch action and wondered "Who?!" when Dakota Johnson was announced as the big screen sex slave-to-be Anastasia Steele in "Fifty Shades of Grey," you are totally not alone.
Apart from the fact that she's the product of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson's second marital union (yep), the public doesn't know a whole heck of a lot about the girl.
Believe it or not, though, you probably have seen her in a movie or two before without realizing it. You see, until this bondage flick score, she's only been the headliner for one project (the short-lived TV show "Ben and Kate"), but she's had a slew of cameo roles that she took full advantage of, so to speak.
Even better, some of them involved some beneath-the-sheets-ish behavior that might just make you wanna rethink signing that "Fifty Shades" recast petition.

Rumors surrounding J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII are a dime a dozen, but we're getting closer to what many are saying will be a January 2014 start of production so sooner or later some of these things are going to come true. The latest, again, comes from Latino Review, reporting Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four, Magic Mike) and Rachel Hurd-Wood (Peter Pan) have auditioned for roles in the film. Presumably not the same role. The role Hurd-Wood was up for is said to be the daughter of Princess Leia and Han Solo, which is believed to be the true lead in the new trilogy while Pettyfer (pictured from his role in Beastly) is speculated to be up for the role of Luke Skywalker's son. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess he didn't have the baby with Leia as well, but they seemed to have a "complicated" relationship.

According to Latino review, Alex Pettyfer and English actress/model Rachel Hurd-Wood, both 23, have read for main roles in Star Wars: Episode VII. The site claim that they are certain that Hurd-Wood is up for playing Princess Leia (and presumably Han Solo's) daughter, but they haven't been able to determine which character Pettyfer might play. The also stress that there will be many other actors reading for the roles, and we should not take this to mean they have the gig, or are even the front-runners. As an addition, Lr reveal that there should be a major Star Wars casting announcement dropping from Lucasfilm..maybe even later today. Hurd-Wood's biggest role yet was playing Wendy in the latest screen adaptation of Peter Pan, while Pettyfer has appeared in the likes of I Am Number Four, Beastly and more recently Magic Mike. Riley Keough Reunites With Alex Pettyfer

Riley and Alex were reportedly engaged after dating for about six months in 2012, according to E!. The engagement was quickly called off though amidst cheating allegations.
The former loves didn’t show any Pda during their rendezvous, but the fact alone that they were spotted out together might suggest a reunion.

Looks like Vanessa Hudgens is having an identity crisis. The Sucker Punch stars seems to have forgotten that she's a former Disney star, not a one-time flower child. This baggy, paisly one-piece is better suited for a peaceful protest than a red carpet appearance. We'll cut the Beastly actress some slack considering she's at an Oakley event in Bali (aka paradise!), but we've noticed that messy dressing is becoming a habit for the starlet. Our opinion: it would be more acceptable if her hair wasn't also so rumpled... What's your take?...

Alex has been cast as the ‘dominant’ lead in the upcoming ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ film, and he has the dangerously sexy good looks for the part!

Alex Pettyfer: Why He Is Christian Grey
First of all, he sure looks the part! Alex has the tousled wavy brown hair, Adonis-like face and sculptured chest and body that E.L. James described in her enormously popular Fifty Shades trilogy.
He’s also got the dangerously sexy attitude that emanates from Christian and lures the heroine, Anastasia Steele, and other women to him — like bees to honey.
He also happens to look pretty darn perfect in a crisp white dress shirt and fitted navy suit, ahem, just like the fictional Christian Grey!

You might be trying to ignore the fact that Gus Van Sant is a bonafide creep, but please don't take this news as a bid for a directing gig as much as it obviously was a stalker-like opportunity to get Alex Pettyfer naked. Doesn't he know that Magic Mike is in that Wal-Mart DVD bin for $9 and on Netflix anytime?
Oscar nominated director Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Milk) has created a reportedly stunning sex scene with Magic Mike and Beastly (Lol) star Alex Pettyfer in order to throw his name in the ring to direct the upcoming screen adaptation of E.L. James' tantalizing novel Fifty Shades of Grey. The scene stars Pettyfer with an unknown lady, and chronicles the moment when young Anatstasia Steele loses her virginity to the titular Christian Grey.
Pettyfer, however, has not officially been cast in the film: the 23-year-old actor was only summoned for the particular scene.

Variety reports that Alex Pettyfer (Beastly, Magic Mike) and Gabriella Wilde (The Three Musketeers, Carrie) will be the leads in Universal’s remake of the 1981 film Endless Love.
The story of Endless Love is based on a 1979 book by Scott Spencer. That book led to the 1981 film adaptation which starred Brooke Shields.
The plot is pretty intense, involving two overly-passionate teenage lovers who are separated after one of them accidentally commits an awful crime.
It is unknown how closely the new version will follow the first two.
Shana Feste (The Greatest, Country Strong) will direct.
Random fact: The Og Endless Love (1981) is also Tom Cruise’s first movie. I will withhold judgement. Click the link if you’re curious.

After the success of "Oz The Great and Powerful," Disney decided to re-imagine another popular property, "Beauty and the Beast." The studio just hired Joe Ahearne (Trance) to write a script for a new live-action version of the story. Disney is calling the film "The Beast," and since Ahearne was chosen, many are assuming that the studio is aiming for much darker take. No word if this will be another prequel, like "Oz." "Beauty and the Beast" is a French fairy tale from the 18th century. Just recently, Vanessa Hudgens starred in "Beastly," which is a modern version of the property. The CW then launched a "Beauty and the Beast" TV series. And Guillermo Del Toro is developing his own live-action film that has Emma Watson attached to star.

Vanessa Hudgens learned what it's like to be at the center of a scandal at a very early age.
The former Disney star is perhaps better known for the nude photos that leaked in 2007, when she was just 18, than any of her legitimate projects. Today, the actress tells Paper magazine that the nude photo leak was "by far the worst moment of my career."
Hudgens clearly was never forced to sit through her 2011 movie "Beastly," if she considers the photo leak to be her worst moment professionally, but we'll admit having private photos passed around online isn't anyone's idea of a good time.
