It’s been about a decade since Twenty One Pilots came oozing out of Columbus, Ohio, with their resolutely Midwestern, amicably dystopian 2015 hit “Stressed Out,” an emo-rap-industrial-pop slab of sing-songy melancholy that touched enough of a nerve to catapult the previously unknown duo into Adele/Beyoncé echelons of chart success. Twenty One Pilots’ post-genre sound was well-timed for the full blossoming of the streaming era. Blurryface (the album that contained “Stressed Out”) went from reggae-lite to ukulele twerpiness to pop-punk to piano-pop to Edm. Adding some value amidst all the playlist-brained vertigo,...

It’s a sad day for The Division fans, as Ubisoft has given the previously announced spin-off the axe. Revealed as part of the company’s earnings call this morning, it has decided to move on from the franchise onto “bigger opportunities.”
The game had been delayed since its announcement in 2021. The first and second one received 80 and 82 respectively on Metacritic, and fans eagerly awaited a new addition to the series.
Ubisoft Gives the Division Spin-off the Axe
The Division‘s upcoming title is confirmed to have been canceled.
Tom Clancy’s The Division and its sequel were handled by Massive Entertainment, a studio under Ubisoft. Heartland was being handled partly by another Ubisoft studio, Red Storm Entertainment.
IGN shared a statement from the company regarding the game’s cancellation:
After careful consideration, we have made the tough call to halt development on Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland, effective immediately.

The gaming industry saw a huge bump in popularity in the early 2000s and 2010s. The fourth and final season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan has finally arrived. It once again offers a compelling lead with the terrific John Krasinski and an incredible supporting cast. That includes Wendell Pierce, Michael Kelly, Abbie Cornish, and Betty Gabriel. Regarding antagonists, you can’t do much better than Michael Peña and Louis Ozawa. The final season brings this series to a compelling last act of the series. If you’ve been following along, you are in for a treat. If you’ve not checked out Jack Ryan, it’s a terrific series worth setting your sights on.
Recently, we had the opportunity to sit down with several cast members. First, we spoke with series regulars Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly about seeing Jack Ryan come to an end. And for this viewer, it’s always a treat to see Betty Gabriel, and she’s terrific here. Ms.

The delight of the John Wick franchise lies squarely in its weirdness. The film series famously kicked off with mercenary protagonist and certified wife guy John Wick, played by Keanu Reeves, avenging his dog. But as John’s thirst for vengeance dwindled, the screenwriters decided to surround him with bloodthirsty weirdos rather than kill more of his loved ones. Even better, the films are aware of their own strangeness, lending a campy joy to even the dourest deeds.
The franchise is at its bizarre best in “John Wick 4,” written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch and directed, as always, by former stuntman Chad Stahelski. The wild world of assassins is more esoteric, the cinematography and choreography more stunning. Though the film stretches to an audacious 169 minutes — just under three hours — if you surrender yourself to the gorgeous silliness of the Wickiverse, it goes by in a fist-flying flash.

If you’ve missed out on some of the best exclusives PlayStation 4 has to offer, Sony’s latest sale promotion could be just the one for you.
Kicking off yesterday and scheduled to run for two weeks until September 16th, this so-called Essential Picks includes a ton of games from almost every notable publisher and developer under the sun, including Naughty Dog. Indeed, despite being little more than a few months old, the studio’s latest release – The Last of Us Part 2 – is included in the sale, albeit with a smaller discount than older titles. Even so, a 16% saving on one of this year’s biggest releases is nothing to scoff at, and there’s plenty of other digital adventures up for grabs for a fraction of their usual asking price if Joel and Ellie’s second outing in post-apocalyptic America isn’t your jam.

With the exhibition reopening of New York and Los Angeles still unclear, despite California Governor Gavin Newsom laying out a road map this afternoon, Paramount has opted to reschedule some of its fall releases, and date some new titles.
After moving Top Gun: Maverick out of the Christmas corridor to July 2 next year, and the reported sale of Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse to Amazon, these leaves Paramount with only one theatrical release left for 2020: Coming to America 2 on Dec. 18…unless they move A Quiet Place Part II back into 2020 (to be continued).
The Melrose Ave. lot’s G.I. Joe spinoff Snake Eyes will not open this year on Oct. 23, 2020, rather will spring forward a year to Oct. 22, 2021. This makes Snake Eyes the only wide entry on its new weekend following the Oct. 15 release of Universal/Blumhouse/Miramax’s Halloween Kills and 20th Century Studio’s Ridley Scott period feature The Last Duel.

Paramount Pictures has decided to move its Michael B. Jordan spy thriller “Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse” back nearly five months from Oct. 2 to Feb. 26, 2021.
Paramount made the move on Friday following several other major titles being shifted back as Hollywood adjusts to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic with “Tenet,” “Mulan,” and “Bill & Ted Face the Music” opting for delays. As coronavirus numbers continue to rise in the U.S., the exhibition business is facing the fact that some theaters may not reopen until August or later.
Tom Clancy’s “Without Remorse” was first published in 1993 and is an origin story in the 1970s about John Kelly, a Navy Seal who avenges his wife’s murder by brutal drug gangsters in Baltimore only to find himself inside a larger conspiracy.
The cast includes Brett Gelman, Jodie Turner-Smith, Jamie Bell, Jacob Scipio, Jack Kesy, Todd Lasance, Luke Mitchell and Cam Gigandet.
