Warning: Spoilers
If you like the Channel 4 100 Greatest Lists, then this is almost as good as them, apart from maybe some of the choices for the certain categories. Hosted by Giles Coren (who for a while did the Channel 5 series Movie Lounge), this particular countdown focused on some much loved films of a certain decades, the 1980s, and I have to say for once, there was some good choices (a bit weird it was on New Year's Ever though). They had all the genres you can think of, with all the stars you could want, a great decade of films. With contributions from Rick Baker, Russell Brand, Charles Fleischer, Karen Krizanovich, Adrian Lyne, Barry Norman and Jerry Zucker. Films on the list included: Fame, St. Elmo's Fire, Flashdance, Desperately Seeking Susan, Weird Science, The Karate Kid, Footloose, RoboCop, Coming to America, The Witches of Eastwick, Cocktail (?), Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Wall Street, Fatal Attraction, 48 Hours, Platoon, Gremlins, Batman, Rain Man, Stand by Me, Dead Poets Society; Good Morning, Vietnam, Lethal Weapon, Crocodile Dundee, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Full Metal Jacket, Beverley Hills Cop, The Lost Boys (?), Top Gun, The Breakfast Club, The Terminator, Airplane!, Aliens, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Dirty Dancing and a great choice for number one, Back to the Future (we thought it was going to be Ghostbusters because of the competition they run, it is usually always the film in the question near the top spot). Very good!
