Delightful episode!

I initially had reservations about Tristan, but this episode quelled those. Delightful episode; loved Diana Rigg - glad to see her in action in her final role.

The series is so charming to savor.

Ha. Peering Tricki's progress

Another strong episode and a bigger part for the late Diana Rigg. The story is a bit contrived in places but lots of great lines. Humour and heartbreak brilliantly fused together

Tricki rides again

Every time Mrs. Pumphrey and Tricki Woo show up in an episode, a great deal of amusement will accompany their appearance.

James has already encountered Mrs. Pumphrey's overindulgence of her beloved Tricki Woo, and on this occasion decides to remand Tricki Woo to personal care at Skeldale House, where they hope to keep him on a strict diet and reduce his overweight condition. Things don't go exactly as planned.

In the meantime, they attempt to treat a large dog which appears to act vicious to anyone but his owner. Tristan makes a surprising discovery in the case.

James and Hugh come to an uneasy accordance as Hugh finally accepts that James did the only thing he could for Andante (previous episode).

Both episodes three and four have a memorial message for Dame Diana Rigg, who played Mrs. Pumphrey in the first season. She was diagnosed with cancer in March of 2020 and passed away in September.

To Every Show There Is a Clunker

It isn't that there wasn't something entertaining about this episode; it just didn't have much of a spark. James's romantic hopes continue to be dashed. The down side is that rich woman (Diana Rigg) and her dog dominate the whole thing. She is overindulgent with it and because of her wealthy they must fearfully cater to her wishes. She doesn't follow their directions so what they accomplish makes no difference. It makes them look like buffoons. Tristan has a lot of screen time, but he doesn't really put himself ahead. Ultimately, they should have (if you'll excuse the expression) let sleeping dogs eat.

Lazy writing.

Warning: Spoilers
I hope this is just a blip but this episode was pretty bad. All the characters seemed to be mostly out of character, exhibiting quirks of convenience to advance the plot.

So much contrivance, like a bad bedroom farce done by an amateur theater company. And three vets being clueless about how to handle an aggressive dog, as if they were first year students, just so we can get a payoff at the end? Agonizing and infantile.

Meanwhile genuine moments were lost and squandered.

I love this series but the writing needs to improve.

A Doggone Shame
Pegasus-1023 November 2021
A low point in the new series (so far) with the silly Tricki plot line and the even sillier behavior of the Farnon brothers. At least James acted his age.
