Road to WrestleMania
nvillesanti12 March 2008
I have been a fan of the WWE since the 80s and I have seen the best come and go but I haven't seen the WWE for year now because of John Cena. In my opinion Cena is not good enough to be so famous but well… like WrestleMania its close, I decided to see "No Way Out" just to see who's who in wrestling. The matches... Well the Match between Punk and Guerrero was pretty decent but nothing especial. Smackdown Elimination match was pretty good. At first was a little slow but when the other superstars got in the ring it got better. The Undertaker is going to WrestleMania against Edge for the title. The Undertaker can still kick butt. Kennedy vs. Flair was very stupid. Flair should retire. I know a lot of fans find amusing to see Flair wrestle at his old age, but Flair doesn't need to prove that he was one of the greatest. It is Time to pass the torch. Misterio vs Edge was very lame match, the only thing that saved the match was the return of Big Show. Orton vs. Cena for the WWE title was a very boring match. But it looks like people are starting to love Cena. I don't know what happen to Orton he used to be such a good wrestler. He has become slower. Now Raw Elimination chamber was really good. You had the best the WWE had to offer. Umaga's double Samoan drop was pretty cool. Jeff Hardy was pretty impressive and all the other. HHH ruled the night. Bottom line, Raw Elimination Chamber match was the best of the night. I just hope that WWE gets better because this pass year wasn't very good. Let's just see what happens in WrestleMania.

WWE No Way Out 2008
Another strong PPV for the WWE but what's with having two Elimination Chamber matches on the card? Talk about overkill, but these were great especially when you consider who was in the Smackdown! EC (Big Daddy V and The Great Khali). However WWE wisely booked these two to last longer than needed and a wise move it was. As soon as Khali entered he was heckled by the fans shouting a richly deserved "You can't Wrestle" chant and even though Big Daddy V looks abysmal on most occasions he didn't look that bad well disregarding the man boobs of course.

The Raw EC match was far superior to the Smackdown! EC match partly because it had 5 good workers (Jeff Hardy, HHH, Umaga, Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels) and these can work believe me. My jaw dropped when I seen Umaga performing the double Samoan drop on Y2J and Michaels, that was awesome and even though everyone knew HHH would win, it was great seeing that he helped elevate Hardy into a main player in the match. Fans actually booed HHH and cheered Hardy.

The Smackdown! EC match was good and Batista and The Undertaker certainly work well together. MVP took a chokeslam off one of the elimination pods from The Undertaker, I'm surprised MVP agreed to do this because he's only been in the WWE for a year and a half and doesn't have that much experience well at taking big bumps anyway. Finlay proved he can still take big bumps when he allowed Taker to chokeslam him on the steel outside, that most have hurt like hell. Bearing in mind Finlay is 50 years old.

The rest of the card was average but was flawed by Ric Flair having a match against Mr Kennedy. I don't care how much Flair has done for the wrestling business, Kennedy deserved better. Flair won the with the figure four leg lock in a passable contest.

The first match on the card was CM Punk against Chavo Guerrero. This was poor and Punk doing Eddie Guerrero's 3 suplexes spot dampened the mood further, what an idiot. Guerrero won to retain his ECW title and was actually cheered by some fans. This is a shame as Guerrero and Punk are good workers but for some reason they didn't click in this match.

Results from the show: Chavo Guerrero downed CM Punk to retain the ECW title in a poor match.... Edge defeated Rey Mysterio in 5 minutes to retain the World title (Rey suffered a bicep injury about a month before the event and was unable to compete in a full match).... The Undertaker bested Finlay, Big Daddy V, The Great Khali, MVP and Batista in a very good Elimination Chamber match.... Ric Flair defeated Mr Kennedy via a figure four leg lock in a so so match.... John Cena downed Randy Orton via DQ in a passable match.... Triple H defeated Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels, Umaga and John 'Bradshaw' Layfield in an excellent Elimination Chamber Match to win the right to face the WWE champion at Wrestlemania (even though John Cena won the Royal Rumble to go on to face a Champion at Wrestlemania 24) Overall Grade - B-

Awesome main event elimination chamber match!
Beard_Of_Serpico15 April 2022
The show is overall decent but watch this PPV for the main event elimination chamber match featuring Triple H, Shaun Michaels, Umaga, Jeff Hardy, Jericho and JBL.

What a great match, there's dangerous looking train wreck spots, Shaun bumps like crazy and bleeds everywhere and Umaga is a beast who destroys everyone. If he didn't tragically die so young i think he would have been a huge star as he is very skilled for such a big man. He makes other big guys who are featured on this PPV like Visera and the great Khali look useless.

Seeing everyone hit their finishers in a row to eliminate him was a great moment.

Once Jeff Hardy enters the match he is on fire and the crowd goes mental.

Jeff deserved the win but sadly in the end it went to Triple H.

I had high hopes for this one
kliko4003 April 2009
Warning: Spoilers
When I found out that there were going to be 2 elimination chambers in one night, i was had high hopes and was looking forward to this one, since Elimination Chamber is one of my favourite WWE Gimmick matches.

FIRST MATCH- CHAVO GUERRERO {CHAMPION} VS. CM PUNK FOR THE ECW CHAMPIONSHIP A solid opener in which I was not too disappointed with. However it could have gone for at least a couple of more minutes, The crowd also played a role in this one, as Chavo is supposed to be the heel, but the fans were chanting for him anyway. Chavo wins after hitting Punk with the Frog Splash. 5/10

SECOND MATCH- UNDERTAKER VS. BATISTA VS. FINLAY VS. MVP VS. GREAT KHALI VS. BIG DADDY V IN A 6 MAN ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH WINNER BECOMES NO. 1 CONTENDER AND FACES WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION AT WRESTLEMANIA 24 It started off a bit slow which is no surprise considering Great Khali and Big Daddy V were put into this match {Why couldn't they put Kane or Shelton Benjamin instead}. This match had it's moments {Like MVP getting choke slammed of the pod, and Batista spinebustering Big Daddy V}. Overall I was quite impressed with this match, but it could have been more exciting and brutal like most Elimination Chamber matches should. Undertaker wins after a Tombstone on Batista. 6/10

THIRD MATCH- MR. KENNEDY VS. RIC FLAIR IN A CAREER THREATENING MATCH IF RIC FLAIR LOSES HE HAS TO RETIRE FROM WRESTLING The most predictable match on the card. In my opinion this match was quite boring and most times very slow. Kennedy should have been in one of the Chamber matches, as he is a wrestler with absolute potential. Very slow and most times boring, Flair wins after Kennedy taps out to a Figure 4 Leg Lock. 4/10

FOURTH MATCH- EDGE {CHAMPION} VS. REY MYSTERIO FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Surprisingly one of the shortest matches on the card all because of Mysterio's bicep injury. Had it not been for his injury, this match could of been a great match, possibly better than their match at The Royal Rumble. Edge wins after spearing Mysterio in mid-air. Afterwards Big Show returns and starts assaulting Mysterio, which leads to Floyd Mayweather to come and hit a series of punches on Big Show's face which makes him bleed. Not a bad segment, and very surprised that Big Show has returned. 4/10

FIFTH MATCH- RANDY ORTON {CHAMPION} VS. RANDY ORTON FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP Their match at Summerslam the past year was absolutely one of the best wrestling matches I have seen in quite a while. Too bad this one did not stand out as it could of been. Both of these men are no doubt the future of the WWE, and there are still way more matches in them. This match was pretty much mediocre to say the least, but it was pretty entertaining nonetheless. Orton gets himself intentionally disqualified after slapping the referee, Cena wins by DQ but Orton is still champion. 5/10

SIXTH MATCH- TRIPLE H VS. JEFF HARDY VS. JBL VS. CHRIS JERICHO VS. SHAWN MICHAELS VS. UMAGA Hands down this is the match of the night and even possibly match of the year. Amazing elimination chamber match with great wrestling and incredible spots like Umaga slamming Jericho through the glass, and Hardy swanton of the top pod. Excellent match which was more superior than the Smackdown elimination chamber. It was obvious HHH was going to win, HHH wins after hitting a Pedigree on Jeff Hardy on the steel chair. 7/10

As there were 2 elimination chambers in one night, I had very high expectations for this event, especially since it was the last one before Wrestlemania. I was not disappointed at all, but I thought that some of the matches could of took a bit longer such as the World Heavyweight title match or the Raw elimination match. Overall a very exciting event which only makes WWE fans look more forward towards the Road To Wrestlemania.

Overall I'll give it a 7/10 and a C+

A Solid Show Thanks to the Main Matches
carologletree6 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
As the final stop before WrestleMania 24, this show was surprisingly good. Both Elimination Chamber matches delivered, as did the Cena/Orton match.

ECW Championship Match: Chavo Guerrero (c) vs. CM Punk - This was a TV quality match, nothing more. These two are capable of much better, in my opinion. Chavo Guerrero retains with the Frog Splash. RATING: **

Elimination Chamber Match to Become the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 24: The Undertaker vs. Batista vs. The Great Khali vs. Big Daddy V vs. MVP vs. Finlay - This EC match was very good, but it would have been better without Great Khali and Big Daddy. They weren't in there for very long, and they felt like a waste of time. The rest of the competitors did a good job, though, and the sequences between The Undertaker and Batista were especially thrilling. The Undertaker wins by last eliminating Batista with a Tombstone Piledriver. RATING: ***3/4

Career Threatening Match: Ric Flair vs. Mr. Kennedy - Average match. It was just a filler bout for the most part, and these two don't have much chemistry. Ric Flair wins with the Figure Four Leg Lock. RATING: **1/2

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Edge (c) vs. Rey Mysterio - A very disappointing match. It was way too short for a world title match, and it never kicked into second gear. They were perhaps limited due to Rey's injury. Their match from the Royal Rumble was much better. Edge retains with a Spear in mid-air. RATING: *3/4

WWE Championship Match: Randy Orton (c) vs. John Cena - This is one of the better matches in the Cena/Orton saga, in my opinion. There was some solid storytelling and some well-done near-falls. The ending however, sucked. Being done for storyline purposes doesn't make it any less irritating. Randy Orton retains his championship by intentionally disqualifying himself. RATING: ***1/2

Elimination Chamber Match to Become the #1 Contender for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 24: Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho vs. JBL vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Umaga - This is one of the top 5 EC matches of all time, in my opinion. The action is non-stop and everyone gets to shine in this match. Umaga, in particular, put on a truly show-stopping performance, and the final sequence between Jeff Hardy and Triple H was fantastic. Triple H wins with a Pedigree on a steel chair. RATING: ****1/2

While weighed down by a lacking undercard and a disappointing Edge/Mysterio match, the Cena/Orton match and the two Chamber matches make this show worth your time.

RATING: B

One of the best WWE PPV I have ever seen.
kyle-mcdonald5 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Well I have always been a big WWE fan and I have watched it for a long time now and I have been following the PPV sense WWE no mercy 2007 and up to this one and so far they have been all great but this has to be one of the best I have seen And here are the reasons The matches are great such as Chavo vs. cm Punk for the Ecw Championship which chavo won by pin, The Smackdown Elimination chamber: The Undertaker vs. Batsista vs. Big Daddy V vs. Finlay vs. The Great Khali vs. Mvp Which The Undertaker won by giving Batista a tombstone and pinning him and this means that The undertaker goes on to wrestlemania to go for the world heavyweight championship. This was probably the best Elimination I have seen. Mr. Kennedy vs. Ric Flair which Ric Flair won by submission This means that Ric Flair does not have to retire, Rey mysterio vs. Edge for The World Heavyeight Championship which Edge won by pin, Randy Orton vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship which John Cena won by DQ so that means that randy Orton keeps the title, The raw Elimination Chamber Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Y2J Chris Jericho vs. Umaga vs. JBL vs. Jeff Hardy which Triple H won by pin. Another reason why it is so good is that all of the matches had lots of action in them and they were are really fun to watch and you just can't get enough of them. Also another thing that I liked about this WWE no way out was that Big Show made his WWE return and that Floyd mayweather Jr. Brock his nose that was pretty funny and now they have a match at Wrestlemania 24. So I am sure that you will not be disappointed with WWE No Way Out 2008 because it is really good. So make sure that you rent or buy or order on PPV or go see it theater because it is just so great.

A swanton off a pod, what a last match
Stampsfightclub8 November 2010
ECW championship – Chavo Guerrero vs CM punk.

A good match with good build up. It seems strange to see Punk as a fan favourite but a good energetic match 7/10.

World Heavyweight championship – Edge vs Rey Mysterio.

As talented as he is it can sometimes be hard to take Mysterio seriously. The build up story to this was rather daft and the fact the match finishes almost carbon copy to the Rumble match sums it up. 5/10 Smackdown elimination chamber.

Two of the greatest athletes ever in Batista and Undertaker start off the match and other 'superstars' in Finlay, MVP, the great Khali and Big Daddy V enter. Easy to tell who the final to will be but what a finale and oh my word what a fantastic finishing manoeuvre! Just for that this is worth an 8/10.

Ric Flair vs Mr Kennedy.

Good match, Mr Kennedy (Or Anderson on TNA) is a brilliant mic worker and great athlete and with the prospect that if Flair lost he would retire this boiled some good tension and a great finish. 8/10.

WWE championship - John Cena vs Randy Orton.

With Cena's big return at the rumble this got the fans excited and a good lengthy match and although I can barely stand Cena he was alright, the ending to this match was so abrupt and funny. 8/10.

Raw elimination chamber.

With a good array of matches behind it No Way Out boiled down to a sensational last match that did include a roster of all respectable stars in Jeff Hardy, JBL, Y2J, HHH, Umaga and HBK and despite my accidental stumbling on the result, you could not guess who would win this. Fantastic moves, fast and slow paced, bodies hitting steel, a swanton off a pod a bloody collection of bodies, this was easily match of the night. 10/10.

A good pay per view, entertaining though not classic but if anything at a cheap price I would buy simply for that last Raw chamber match. 7/10
