The poster for the film features the ouroboros symbol of the snake eating its own tail, which represents the cycle of life and death, which ties in with the plot of the film that deals with a time loop, and the perpetual death of a man in the film.
The Keeping Cost is an original story by writer/director Travis Darkow that ties into the shared universe he has crafted across almost all of his films, but it is also a love letter to Justin Benson and Aaron Moorehead's films Resolution (2012) and The Endless (2017) as the main character is stuck in a time loop that is being watched over by a mysterious outside entity.
Shot on a Sony A6300 on a budget of about $50.
There is a shot in the film that is a one shot take that is a little over 5 minutes long, and it had to be re-shot around 25 times in order to get it right.
Awarded Best Editing at the Hollywood Blood Horror Festival 2020.
