The Coca-Cola tie-in television commercial with the James Bond film "Quantum of Solace' (2008) was part of an integrated campaign that included the re-branding of Coke Zero as "Zero Zero 7" to reflect secret agent James Bond's 007 code number.
Coke issued this statement about this television commercial: "The Coca-Cola Company wishes to clarify and correct recent media reports relating to its upcoming promotional partnership with Sony Pictures and the new James Bond movie 'Quantum of Solace'. Despite some reports to the contrary, Jack White did not write a song for 'Coca-Cola Zero'. Rather, Mr. White was commissioned to write the new Bond theme song for the movie to be performed by Jack White and Alicia Keys. The Coca-Cola Company has been granted use of an instrumental version of the song for use in its advertising of the partnership between 'Coca-Cola Zero' and 'Quantum of Solace'. The Coca-Cola Company regrets any confusion regarding the 'Quantum of Solace'/Coca-Cola Zero" promotion.".
The music heard in this tie-in television commercial with the James Bond film 'Quantum of Solace' (2008) was an instrumental version of movie's theme song without any singing. The song version, heard in movie and its associated music video, was written by Jack White and sung and performed by him and Alicia Keys in a duet.
Previously, in 2006, Jack White had written an song for a Coca-Cola television commercial (TVC) entitled "What Goes Around". The song was called "Love is the Truth" and the TVC was produced by ad agency Mother London.
Coca-Cola's promotional, advertising, and marketing campaign, to tie-in with the James Bond film 'Quantum of Solace' (2008), was at least at the time, the largest ever to promote, advertise, and market Coke Zero, and had a multi-million pound spend. The campaign also tied-in with Harrods, the department store owned by Mohamed Al Fayed.
