Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya opened at 7.02 crore at the box office, and it has entered the list of top openers of Valentine’s week releases in the last 13 years. Since 2011, 17 films have been released during Valentine’s Week, and Tbmauj is among the top 10 opening films of Valentine’s Week.
However, this might not be a very welcoming move for Tbmauj since most of the films released during Valentine’s Week have not earned a hit status. In fact, even in the top 10 openers, some films flopped at the box office, including Sara Ali Khan & Kartik Aaryan’s Love Aaj Kal.

After the release of his critically acclaimed gay romance “Badhaai Do” in 2022, Harshvardhan Kulkarni was asked whether or not he was inspired by Kim Jho Gwang-Soo's “Two Weddings and a Funeral,” which had come out in Korea ten years prior. Kulkarni denied having seen Kim Jho's film and noted that the concept of “Lavender Marriages,” in which a man and a woman marry in order to hide that they're gay, is not new. He went as far as to compare it to the “Elopement Marriage” trope found in so many romance stories throughout history, but the truth is that queer marriages of convenience have factored into far fewer popular films. It's difficult, then, not to compare the two films, but Kim Jho's exploration of the idea is breezier and sillier at its best. Unfortunately, overwrought melodrama in the third act takes away from what is otherwise a winning rom-com.

As the movie ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ completes its 10 years, lyricist, musician, and stand-up comedian, Varun Grover shared how he convinced director Anurag Kashyap to give him a chance to write the songs for the film.
He said: “I don’t know if Anurag remembers, but I have written the lyrics of a song for one of his films ‘That Girl in Yellow Boots’. Only four lines of the song were played in the background of the film, and only those who know about the song could notice it.”
“After that film, I asked Anurag if he was planning on his next film as my wish to write for his movie was still unfulfilled. So, he mentioned that his upcoming film won’t have any songs and falls more into a mafia and action genre.”
Varun further said the film might have one or two folk songs in Bhojpuri dialect but...

The nearly moribund Bollywood family drama genre is set for a revival with “Raksha Bandhan,” directed by Aanand. L. Rai (“Atrangi Re”) and starring Akshay Kumar (“Sooryavanshi”) and Bhumi Pednekar (“Badhaai Do”).
Films revolving around the family unit, which used to be a staple in Bollywood, peaked with blockbuster “Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!” (1994), starring Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit, and made a brief reappearance with “Badhaai Ho” (2018) featuring Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana. “Raksha Bandhan” hopes to emulate the heydays of the genre.
“In ‘Raksha Bandhan’ there is a lot of hunger — hunger to come out with Indian values, hunger to depict the culture, hunger to talk about the bonding, the relationships, which are there with us, we’ve not gone insensitive towards them, but somehow they’ve taken a back seat, we don’t talk about it,” Rai told Variety. “Let me bring all those emotions to the forefront,...

Mumbai, Feb 26: Bollywood buffs are in for a lot of fresh pairs on screen this year. After the nearly complete no-show in 2020, many films set for release this year feature actors who have never shared the screen before.
Casting director and filmmaker Mukesh Chhabra says that seeing different actors pair up on screen for the first time is always a treat. "People love to see anything that is out of the box. So this is why they love it when new actors work together. Also, actors, too, are experimenting and they love to try out something new. It gives a very fresh look on screen. If you team up actors who have worked with each other before, you feel like they have been seen together so many times," says Chhabra.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh adds that this kind of pairing also brings in the numbers. "People are excited to see fresh pairings on screen.

Mumbai, Feb 24: Bollywood might have had a slow run last year with lockdown prompting total closure of cinema halls through most of 2020, but the industry sure has plans to bounce back with multiple big-ticket films over the next months. A large chunk of these are sequels.
Sequels come with the advantage of a ready fan base, because fans of the earlier film or films in the series hope to see what happens next in the franchise. That, in itself, can be a huge advantage for any filmmaker, at a time Bollywood is going all out to woo the crowds back to the theatres.
"Sequels have always worked as they have a big advantage of coming after a super successful film. The films already enjoy popularity and many people go to watch them. Rohit Shetty has been very lucky that way that most of the sequels of his films have...
