In conjunction with the official white vinyl release of 'Dirk Wears White Sox' album, Adam played the 100 Club to a small audience. This was held on Monday 28th April 2014, 7.30pm. Fans had gathered outside since the early afternoon to see the show. The place was packed by 5.30pm. (As the venue only holds 300 capacity) The set was captured by a small camera crew and the film eventually released as an 'extra' on the DIRK Live DVD.
It was at short notice that Adam Ant decided to get this show filmed. The eventual live sound was handed over to Harvey Birrell to work on the soundtrack at his sound studio, as he wasn't present at the actual gig.
The show was hosted by John Robb. John is an award winning journalist and boss of Louder Than War. In a 30 year music writing career, John was the first to write about bands such as Stone Roses and Nirvana and has several best selling music books to his name. He constantly tours the world with Goldblade and the Membranes playing gigs or doing spoken word and speaking at music conferences.
London's iconic 100 Club has been trading under the same name since 1964 and has put on live music since 1942 as the Feldman Jazz Club amongst other names, earning it the title of the oldest independent venue world wide.
The 100 Club is a music venue located at 100 Oxford Street, London, England, which has been hosting live music since 24 October 1942. It was originally called the Feldman Swing Club, but changed its name when the father of the current owner took over in 1964.
