I've finished the show and it has been great, but I felt like this episode was the strangest.
I don't really know much about spirituality and practices surrounding it, so when the guest says: "what I do, is magic", I had no idea what he was really talking about.
They go on at lenght about authors, organisations and references that I have never heard of.
I don't know generally what branches of spiritual practices are done in the west. The guest speaks a little about it, and perhaps stops himself from diving into the esoteric, but it begs the question, what magic is, what it is capable of (something about manifestation was mentioned?).
I get that a lot of it is based on western icons, but the way the guest speaks of it is almost like gaining skill in a video game, it doesn't feel right in the context of other episodes.
It was interesting, but not meant for the uninitiated.
I felt also strange about the comparison between Eastern spirituality and Western magic, I don't really know what I am talking about, but it seems wrong to make such comparative statements (ie. Magic is like eastern spiritiality on steroids).
