The story of the Mexican indigenous people Rarámuri, from Chihuahua, who have a long-distance foot-racing tradition, is fantastic. Documentary itself, however, has a serious problem of focus. Narrative emphasis changes a lot, and sometimes the good testimonies of the Rarámuri racers give place to quite ridiculous and self-centered colonist-like opinions of gringoes, which are not important or interesting at all. Bernardo Ruiz was able to show beautiful landscapes and to have nice interviews with indigeous racers and inhabitants, but was very unfortunate to find so bad interviewees from US and to give thrm so much space in the film.
