- Seina's talent for finding trouble makes him a hot commodity, and he is forced to choose between a life serving the Galaxy Police - or joining forces with a notorious and beautiful space pirate!
- Seina and Mitoto meet Lady Seto, the Devil. Princess of Jurai, in a meadow that Seina notices is very similar to one on Earth. When he asks if the field is on board Lady Seto's spaceship, he is told that it exists in subspace, so technically it isn't on the ship -- it's between the ship. Confused, Seina decides not to say anything more other than to ask if there's a telephone he can use. Unfortunately, he is unable to make any calls and excuses himself.
Seto goes over Seina's records, noting that while policy forbids Earthlings as GP applicants, Seina is special. Meanwhile, as Seina encounters a series of mishaps while exploring, Seto says that his uncanny bad luck may be the salvation of the galaxy. Seto also goes over the records of Amane Kaunaq, the GP officer who initially made contact with the boy. She says that Amane's parents let her join the GP in hopes of finding a suitable husband of high rank, but none of those who attempted to court her were successful.
As Seina prepares to meet Seto, he is reminded of some advice that his guide gave him before he left-- not to upset Seto under any circumstances. When Seina finally meets her, he is momentarily flustered and stammers out a greeting. Seto's attendants introduce themselves as Commander Kanemitsu Hirata and Minaho Masaki. Hearing the name "Masaki," Seina wonders if Minaho and Tenchi might be related. Seto tells Mitoto her father wants her to call him, and Mitoto excuses herself, leaving Seina alone with Seto.
Seto thanks Seina for his help in capturing several pirates in one fell swoop. Seina says it was just his chronic bad luck that landed the ship in the middle of the pirates. Seto says it still worked, and now everything has changed since Seina graced them with his great talent. Hirata approaches, saying that Seina being an Earthling prohibits him from joining the GP. He adds that they will see Seina safely back to Earth, but will have to erase his memory in accordance with their bylaws.
Seina is at first crestfallen at having to return to Earth, but when Seto says that exceptions can be, and have been, made to the rule, he asks what he has to do. Seto advises him to not be so quick to rush into the unknown, saying that a life in the GP can be very rewarding but also extremely dangerous. Saying the choice is Seina's, Seto asks him what he wants to do. Seina says that even though he misses his family back on Earth, he wants to join the Galaxy Police and pleads with Seto to give him a chance. Seto tells him she will take his request to the review board. Seina thanks her profusely.
Seina rejoins Mitoto and his guide on board the GP vessel. As soon as the ship executes a hyperspace jump, however, it finds a pirate vessel approaching. The bridge crew becomes ecstatic upon learning the approaching vessel belongs to Ryoko Balta, an attractive female pirate. Alan, Barry, and Cohen, the three male bridge crew members, fawn over Ryoko. When Ryoko asks what happened with the other pirates, the three immediately point to Seina, saying he was the one who programmed in the coordinates for the random jump.
Ryoko approaches Seina, who says it was an accident and apologizes profusely. Ryoko offers to let Seina join her crew, saying they could help each other. Seina turns her down, saying there's no future in piracy. Ryoko says the next time they meet, they'll be enemies, but thanks Seina and the rest of the crew for their hospitality, posing for a photo with all of them before she leaves.
