Leverage has been having a fantastic second season on TNT, averaging around 4.1 million viewers each week. In addition to the fantastic cast on the show there have also been some great guest stars this season, including Wil Wheaton and Griffin Dunne, both of whom happened to be on last night's new episodes.
TNT has picked up the series for a third season which will start in the summer of 2010 and include 15 new episodes.
“Thanks in large part to its engaging cast and clever storytelling, Leverage has proven itself to be one of the most exciting and fun hours on television,” said Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “The producers, cast and crew have been incredible to work with, and we anticipate another wonderful season.”
Below is the actual press release from TNT about the renewal.

Starring Noah Wyle as nerd librarian / adventurer Flynn Carsen, Dean Devlin's The Librarian series brings cinematic qualities to the movie screen in the form of an exciting adventure series which appears on TNT every two years. After Quest for the Spear (2004) and Return to King Solomon's Mines (2006), last year saw the release of the latest installment entitled Curse of the Judas Chalice (2008). All of these scores are avaiable from La-la-Land Records who recently issued the third episode's music on a lavish CD. I've talked with series composer Joseph LoDuca, whose previous credits include the Evil Dead movies as well as the popular television series' Hercules and Xena:
How did you become the composer of of the Librarian series?
I was introduced to Dean Devlin, the producer, and Peter Winther, the director, when they were looking for a composer. They already knew of my work, and we hit it off from the beginning.
