The series has been developed in parallel to Netflix's first Middle East original "DJINN" which was a massive critical and commercial failure. what contributed to Djinn''s failure was also due to its culturally inappropriate depictions and due to this, FINDING OLA was significantly toned down and can clearly be noticed throughout the series.
As it released right after the success and controversy of the Arab Language version of Perfect Strangers, audiences were expecting a more daring series however the reaction was bleak due to its content.
