This episode opens with Derek looking after a heavily pregnant, injured woman and her teenaged daughter. A flashback to six months ago shows us how they are members of a family being hunted by a terminator. Sarah and Cameron come to help then when they are in their cottage deep in the woods. Not surprisingly they think Sarah's warnings are the ravings of a mad woman and to make things even more difficult she has no idea which family member is the actual target. We learn that in a flashforward to the future where Derek is trying to rescue the one person who appears to be immune to the effects of the terminators' latest bio-weapon. Back in the woods the family's various secrets come out and it becomes clear that the daughter is the only one not hiding a secret that could tear the family apart.
This episode is rather unusual in that it doesn't feature John Connor in any of the three time periods. In many ways his role in the story is taken by teenaged Lauren Fields; Samantha Krutzfeldt does well in the role. The story itself may me considered filler by some but it was still entertaining; there was some good action as Cameron fought the attacking cyborg as well as a reasonable amount of humour. There is a good amount of tension as we don't know which member of the family is being hunted and there is a feeling that other members could be killed before the actual target is rescued. Overall I'd say this is a pretty good episode; missing it might not spoil the series over all but it would still be a shame as it is well worth watching.
