The algebraic problem (K + E [y] = 4 // [K] E + y = 10 // K + [E] y = 8) found in "The Moor Baby" was solved by Baby Smurf in this way:
- In the first row, 4 divides by K + E (4/K + E) where K and E each represent "1" and adds up to 2, so 4 divides by 2 (4/2) equals 2. Since "y" is missing in the equation, then y = 2
- In the second row, 10 divides by E + y (10/E + y) where E and y each represent "1" and adds up to 2, so 10 divides by 2 (10/2) equals 5. Since "K" is missing in the equation, then K = 5
- In the third and last row, 8 divides by K + y (8/K + y) where K and y each represent "1" and adds up to 2, so 8 divides by 2 (8/2) equals 4. Since "E" is missing in the equation, then E = 4
- To solve the algebraic problem, Baby adds the results of K, E, and y (which are "5" for K, "4" for E, and "2" for y respectively), so 5 + 4 + 2 equals 11.
"The Moor's Baby" marks the second time Balthazar appears in the same episode with Johan and Peewit; the first being "Handy's Kite". Balthazar appears outside the situation since he didn't interact with either the Smurfs, Johan, Peewit, Homnibus, or any of the other innocent characters in the episode or even oppose them, thus leaving the antagonistic work to the two goons he hired.
"The Moor's Baby" is one of the few episodes to be animated at Hanna-Barbera Australia, albeit uncredited.
In "The Moor's Baby", although Dame Barbara is mentioned, she doesn't appear anywhere in the episode.
Gargamel's intention of shaving Papa Smurf's beard off in "Hefty's Heart" is similar to the scene where Gargamel actually uses a razor on Papa Smurf in The Smurfs (2011) to shave off a bit of his beard for his Smurf essence extractor.
