We get to know more about the situation with Beatrice and we have a great development between Subaru and Echidna. Subaru's voice actor, Yuusuke Kobayashi, should be appreciated more because he does an amazing job putting emotion and pain into Subaru's voice, especially in this episode. Subaru's been through a lot this episode and the ending was quite satisfying and heartwarming.

Rollercoaster of emotion and best soundtrack in the series.

Episode 8 is by far the best episode in the series so far. It started with some questions being answered which raise more questions than it solve. Some minor development of side characters. Truly the part that made the episode so good is the ending, as Subaru went thru a gruesome experience and finally saved and was able to release his pent up emotions that ties together with one of the best soundtrack in the series which brings out the emotion of sorrowfulness, bittersweet and also hope which is almost mirror to the season 1 episode 15 ending but played on a higher end note instead of the lower end.
Fantastic episode.

Sad for Otto, Patrasche and the Villagers who died to protect Subaru from Garfiel.
Then the scene where Subaru gets literally eaten alive by a Horde of Monster Rabbits, I'm still surprised that the rating here is stated to be only TV-14 because that death was beyond horrific, he felt everything and had a seizure after coming back from death, if it wasn't for Echidna then Subaru would've stayed insane forever. And luckily, Subaru was finally able to cry his heart out after not being able to tell anyone for so long.
If was overall a well done episode that rivals the well known Episode 15 (Betelgeuse's introduction).
Little side note, Subaru's voice actor does an OUTSTANDING job as Subaru, his voice acting is legitimately just goddamn out of the world.

Without spoiling anything, "The Value of Life" is best episode of Re:Zero so far, and one of my favorite television episodes period, having a great blend of everything that makes this show great. It has an incredible disturbing and morbid tone akin to "The Outside of Madness", but also managing to balance it out with a handful of revelations, along with one of the most satisfying and emotional moments in the series that has been built up to since the beginning. All of these things along with the beautiful animation, amazing voice acting (Especially Yûsuke Kobayashi's stunning performance), and great music make for what's probably the best episode of the year, and one of my favorite pieces of television ever.
Perfect 10/10.

First ever show to make me almost cry and maybe i actually cried a little. Rewatched for like few times still it breaks my heart and trigger my neurons to cry. The Voice actor for Subaru had connection and felt all the suffering subaru have gone through ande it made the voice actor voice impression even more amazing and the crying acting is so real and shows a person that have been holding everything on their back for so long and finally be able to share it with someone. Amazing. Amazing Episode, i hope i'll be seeing more of this kind of episode in the future arcs. Also the script and others are perfect.
