Whatever makes you sleep at night

There are so many exciting things going on at once! Mark and Lexie are secretly doing it, and Derek's mom are suddenly coming to town. Meredith freaks out about meeting her. There is some comic stuff here.

The medical cases with the death row pasient and the little boy Jackson continues, and the two stories intertwine. They manage to keep the tension up and play out these cases amazingly well! They actually make you both care for the death row pasient and hate him at the same time.

Wow, Owen's darkness really reached a new high. He's got so much pain and hurt. Fortunately, Cristina is someone who can handle it. The moment in the shower was really beautiful.

A friend like Izzie.

To have a friend like Izzie would be amazing! Who bakes for everyone. Cooks Thanksgiving for everyone. Who offers to cookfood for Mer without hesitation so she can have dinner with her father and step mom and refused to join said dinner so Mer can have family time with her people. And cleans the house to ease Mer's panic because Derek's mom is coming.

I'm loving Arizona - pairing her with Karev was such a good idea! It's amazing to finally start seeing him as a not useless boyfriend (and good that the end of Denny's rather painfully long return as a ghost is now in sight). Derek's mother is great - that stab at Allison after she and Derek were married for 11 years is iconic!

Sloan and Callie are excellent together as always. Cristina's apology to Meredith was very fitting for their relationship. Seeing Hunt dressed in a suit was beautiful - he and Cristina are an excellent match for each other. The shower scene was touching.

The serial killer provides a huge wealth of the sort of really interesting ethical questions the show is incredible at making us think about.

The only thing issue with this episode was the continuance of the tendency the show has to be painfully graphic.

Watch out for the lunch scenes they're golden comedy.

This Episode begins with Bailey, she is taking care of Jackson this night. Derek says William that he needs surgery right away. William gets the death penalty in five days. Carolyn, Derek's mother, is visiting the Seattle Grace Hospital today. Carolyn wants to have lunch with Meredith. William wants to donate his organs to Jackson. William is a match with Jackson. Richard and Bailey perform Jackson's surgery. Derek performs William's surgery. Izzie says that she broke up with Denny, now for good. William knocked his head on his bed end. Nice Episode of Grey's Anatomy Season 5, such a great Episode. We finally saw Derek's mother!

Unrealistic

In the mid 70's as a youth orthopaedic surgeons attempted to lengthen one of my limbs. I'll repeat in the mid 70's because 45 years ago that procedure was not near as barbaric as it was depicted on this episode, I was sure that I had read somewhere that they had real doctors advising on techniques, are the real doctors working for this show sadist?
