This is the first legal wedding in the series that doesn't involve Lex Luthor. Previously, Lex has been shown marrying Desirée Atkins in "Heat", Helen Bryce in "Exodus", and Lana Lang in "Promise". Clark married Alicia Baker in a low-budget Vegas wedding chapel in "Unsafe", but the wedding was not legal; since Clark was only 17. Nevada law would have required him to have either a parent or guardian present or written, notarized permission to marry.
Lex's ploy of using a dummy's silhouette framed by a window as bait for a would-be assassin is reminiscent of the Sherlock Holmes tale The Adventure of the Empty House. In the Holmes story, he places a lifelike waxwork bust in his window, which is then "shot" by his would-be assassin, Colonel Moran.
This is the first time the transformation of Davis Bloome is shown.
In a conversation with Oliver, Lana states that more than 430,000 megagigs were being used by LutherCorp at an abandoned site. A megagig is more commonly known as a petabyte.
Although this is Lex Luthor's first appearance since "Arctic", he is not being portrayed by Michael Rosenbaum.
