Very relate-able....

I found the humor to be quite eventful, more of British humor style. each scene is very unique and quite entertaining. Each scene brings back memories to when people talk out loud and sometimes very loud in the worst situations on their phone in public. I found that each character was very unique in their delivery in dealing with there unique situation. I can see why it has won awards and received a lot of kudos... The one review said that this was a project that will be done in many other cities world wide, I would love to see what others are saying on their phone in other cities.... so hopefully to be continued.... and we will see more of The Cellphone. Congratulations on all the awards.

Painful...

Most of the time I watch bad independent shorts, I don't write a review. After all, the people are usually struggling and it's a great opportunity for them to hone their craft, so who am I to trash their films? However, in this case I'll make an exception since the short bills itself as "A SILLY ZANY COMEDY" (in all capital letters on their part). Well, it ain't zany and it ain't silly. Most of the skits fall very flat (except for the one with the husband and wife talking on cell phones in their Continental), the acting is strictly amateur and the end product looks like a vanity project someone made to show their friends or post on YouTube. Missing is polish, professionalism and humor.

Very funny short

This is a very funny television pilot for a show that goes from city to city sending up what people talk about on their cell phones. The humor is dry, very British, and well-executed. A great idea for a TV show which is fully scripted and is in a different location each week looking at the different customs around the world with cell phone usage. One week they are in Los Angeles, which is what this episode is about, then the next week the ensemble cast travels to Bankok or London and they do what people are doing in that city. The music is quite interesting as well, it seems to be good transitions between the the short scenes which could be a little bit faster as at times the pace seems a bit slow.

off beat and quirky comedy

I thought The Cell Phone was a good beginning for a new sketch troupe. Absurd, farcical humor is not for all, but I found it very entertaining. Offering twists to what was expected in a comedy format, brilliant. Obviously an attempt to move forward in the comedy careers of all involved and I applaud the whole cast for the work they did. I hope they release a new The Cell Phone Part Duex soon. I am sure it will please the nay sayers who didn't have a broad enough comedic understanding to appreciate the direction the writer and actors were going.

So bravo I say, BRAVO!
