Peter's problems continue to pile up.

Peter learns of Charmian's fate, he also had to deal with a family dinner, put together by his daughter, who wants answers.

We had two possibilities for Roadkill, we soon learn which of the contenders it is.

David Tennant is going to be hard to beat as the contender for best actor after Des, but Laurie isn't far behind here, he's excellent, you see him switch from troubled, slightly disinterested family man to false man of the people.

It's another excellent episode, it's a good balance between drama, current affairs and intrigue. I would again have to point out that there is a little bit of political bias, he's a Tory MP, so obviously wants to sell off the NHS, BBC that's a little bit naughty.

You're just waiting for things to spiral out of control for him, next episode I guess.

It is very good drama, 8/10.

Disappointing!

Warning: Spoilers
"Roadkill" has been a pretty interesting show this far. Sadly, the third episode of the series is easily the weakest of the bunch. It's not awful, but just feels tired at the end of the day.

Let' s start with the good aspects, shall we?

. The production values of the show are great as usual. The music fits the scenery and the acting is very good. Hugh Laurie, Helen MCcroy are excellent while Millie Brady, Saskia Reeves and especially Shalom-Brune Franklin are very good.

. The story has an occasional spark. There is some backstory given to Peter Lawrence and his dysfunctional family. The narrative goes into some very dark places (like suicide, non-functioning family and affairs), which was quite jarring. The ending lays a good fundation to the fourth episode as well.

But...

. I really agree with the previous reviewer that some twists, turns are really needed for the show. It has started to feel tired and melodramatic at best. Some characters need a lot more meet to their bones (like Luke for instance) and I personally did not find the family drama, which is the centre of the story here, very interesting to watch.

Overall, an average episode.

5,5/10 HK.

Episode 2

Poor Charmian. She ended up as roadkill but did Peter Laurence arrange it because she got so close to the truth?

It is left for barrister Rochelle to follow the trail but she will have ethical issues as she represented Peter in court.

As for Peter, he probably wishes that he stayed in hospital after his own car accident. His daughters round on him over his affairs and he sheepishly admits to having an illegitimate daughter.

At least Peter has time to contemplate who might be betraying him and leaking information against him.

Having been familiar with a lot of David Hare's screen work. This just comes across as a rather flat soap opera when I expected a riveting thriller.

It also looks like something that would had been better off on BBC2.
