Bruce Timm created some of the best DC stories and adaptations in his Dcau. His Batman: The Animated Series is considered the best iteration of the Dark Knight on screen. However, when he co-created Superman: The Animated Series with Alan Burnett, he did not feel that the show received the response it deserved.

Superman: The Animated Series ran for four seasons and 54 episodes on Kids’ WB from 1996 to 2000. Similar to Batman: The Animated Series, the Superman show also received critical appreciation for its writing and mature themes. But some fans complained that it could not live up to the quality of the Kevin Conroy show and Bruce Timm did not agree to it.

The Ryan Reynolds starrer Deadpool & Wolverine is gearing up for release in July of this year. The film would be the sole MCU theatrical release of the year and would formally introduce the X-Men into the MCU. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and a host of other characters from Fox Studios’ Marvel entries are confirmed to appear in the film.
Recently, popular scooper Can We Get Some Toast reported that the majority of the film would be taking place in The Void, a space that was introduced in Loki. The teaser of the film indicated that the film would be a multiversal story with Deadpool going to different timelines. The scooper also mentioned how this direction was vastly different from the original script for the film, which reportedly took place during the original X-Men trilogy.

When Bruce Willis announced his retirement from acting in 2022 due to his condition, his dream to play one role in a film franchise ended. Willis was a big fan of the James Bond films. After watching Javier Bardem portray an exceptional villain in Daniel Craig’s Skyfall, Willis openly stated in 2013 that he was up for playing a big baddie in the next Bond film.

However, the role of the crime organization leader Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the next film, Spectre, went to Christoph Waltz. Bruce Willis never got the call from James Bond makers, who wrapped up Daniel Craig’s iteration of films in 2021 with No Time to Die.

Marvel has spent the last few years revamping a major antagonist, specifically with the intent of giving Thanos an "iconic counterpart." Uranos is Thanos' grandfather, and was recently reintroduced as a huge threat to the X-Men, even killing Magneto. Writer Kieron Gillen describes Uranos as Marvel's "god of fascism," and confirms he was reimagined with Thanos in mind.

Emily Blunt is known for her versatile roles and collaborations with esteemed directors, which include Christopher Nolan, Rob Marshall, Rian Johnson, and Denis Villeneuve. Science fiction movies are known for exploring complicated and intriguing ideas through entertaining stories. The genre has seen some of the most transformational and influential directors and writers turn in a variety of unique films, from dystopian detective tales to epic world-building stories. However, while many of these worked as films, some could live up to their potential even better as a TV series.
Sci-fi movies can often compress stories that work much better in an extended, decompressed format, one that allows for more character development. These longer formats also allow for a much more detailed, in-depth look at the worlds crafted by their creators. Recent years have seen many sci-fi movies land TV series with mixed effects, and some movies have much higher potential than others.

The murder of Old Joe's wife in the future proves that killing is still possible despite the "tagging techniques" that make it nearly impossible to dispose of bodies. The criminals in the future could have killed their targets before sending them back to the Loopers, potentially reducing the work the Loopers had to do. The failure to pre-kill the older versions of Seth and Joe leaves too much to chance, as their ability to escape disrupts their loops.
There's a scene in 2012's Looper that goes against its own rules for the future. The logic surrounding a certain aspect of the movie's canon seems airtight from the start, but there's a hole in the script's lore. Rian Johnson's sci-fi adventure is a twisty affair that requires the utmost concentration to keep pace with the plot. However, the writer/director forgot to consider an important factor when adding to his world.

Looper's intricate time travel logic and thought-provoking story are made possible by an administrative oversight by faceless characters. The immersive worldbuilding and in-depth lore of the Looper canon contribute to the movie's rewarding viewing experience. The risk of a Looper's escape and the potential for altering history are key elements that drive the plot and create tension in the film.
Looper is a highly thought-provoking adventure that leaves lingering questions about its compelling time travel logic, but the movie's entire plot only takes place due to an administrative oversight by faceless characters. The Looper canon is impressively in-depth for a standalone story and makes Rian Johnson's fictional universe very immersive. While the movie's worldbuilding is rewarding, none of it would have been possible to explore if one key part of Looper lore happened a little differently.
Looper follows the story of two versions of the same man from different points in their life.

Looper is a mind-bending movie that leaves many aspects of its world unexplained, including the origin and limitations of telekinesis (Tk). The presence of Tk in Looper raises more questions than it provides answers, leaving viewers to wonder about the mutation and its manifestations. While the Tk element in Looper adds to the sci-fi genre label, it doesn't contribute significantly to the story and could have been omitted without affecting the plot.
2012's Looper is a mind-bending temporal adventure that ends without sufficiently addressing one of its most mysterious elements. Looper is dense with lore, especially for a two-hour movie, but certain aspects of the world created by writer/director Rian Johnson are only touched upon during their presence in the story. While this vagueness around certain aspects of Johnson's worldbuilding helps to create intrigue, other parts of the movie's canon would have been more rewarding if additional details were provided before Looper's ending.

Emily Blunt, the guest on this episode of The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, has been described by The Daily Beast as “one of the most impressive actresses working today,” by The Guardian as “the biggest British female movie star of her generation” and by her three-time collaborator Meryl Streep as “the best young actress I’ve worked with in some time, perhaps ever.” She already has Critics Choice, Golden Globe and SAG awards on her mantelpiece. And yet, she has never been so much as nominated for an Oscar.

“The Girl on the Train,” “A Quiet Place,” “Mary Poppins Returns,” “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Sicario,” “Looper,” “The Young Victoria.” Those are just a select few of the many acclaimed performances delivered by Emily Blunt in her first two decades as a star. Marvel Studios may recast Captain Marvel after the potential MCU reboot after 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars. Brie Larson has received some undue criticism for her portrayal of Captain Marvel, suggesting the character may be recast. Actors Emily Blunt, Margot Robbie, Shailene Woodley, Jennifer Lawrence and Rebecca Ferguson are potential candidates for the role.

Knives Out 3 needs a major star in its cast to live up to the talent assembled in the previous films. Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be a perfect addition to the Knives Out 3 cast, considering his past collaboration with director Rian Johnson. The previous films have set up a way for Gordon-Levitt to appear in Knives Out 3, potentially playing a fictional detective who helps Benoit Blanc solve a mystery.

The McU's time travel rejects conventional time travel rules, avoiding plot holes and establishing clear boundaries. Avengers: Endgame draws inspiration from Back to the Future, implying the need to course-correct the changed past. The McU's time travel is more similar to Star Trek's time heist and Palm Springs' time loop than films like Terminator and Looper.
The MCU has used time travel for various purposes, drawing inspiration from a wide range of pre-existing media while still rejecting many conventionally accepted conceits of the idea other films have used. Time travel is always a tricky subject to explain, with the best time travel movies clearly establishing rules that are followed to a tee. Less-successful science fiction stories dip their toes into the waters of the idea to disastrous effects, the presence of poorly-explained time travel being a surefire way to open up dozens of plot holes.

It’s a killer premise: a secret organization called The Lazarus Project exists to prevent the end of the world. Every time global events escalate to the point of no return, Lazarus resets time – taking the entire world back to the most recent 1st July passed (the check point) giving the team time to prevent the catastrophic occurrence. Whether it was through his leading role in the star-studded feature Angels in the Outfield, his run as teenage heartthrob Tommy Solomon on 3rd Rock from the Sun, or even his cameo appearance on Roseanne, everyone has their own memory of when they saw Joseph Gordon-Levitt perform for the first time. During a recent interview with Collider’s Steve Weintraub, while promoting his upcoming film, Flora and Son, the Emmy winning actor shared the role that gave him the most jitters.

Eve Hewson had to conquer her "fear of singing" for 'Flora and Son'.The 32-year-old actress – the daughter of U2 frontman Bono and activist Ali Hewson – plays the title role in the musical comedy-drama and surprisingly confessed that she was terrified of using her vocals for the movie.Speaking at Deadline's Contenders Film: Los Angeles panel, Eve said: "I just thought, 'I could not let this person get away from me. I have to play this part. And I'm just going to have to get over my fear of singing – it's not something I've ever wanted to do – and just go for it.'"And it's ended up being such a rewarding experience on many different levels, but (on) almost sort of psychological-emotional level for me, it's like I faced my fear and I've moved past it and I feel pretty good about it."The movie tells the story of...

Time travel movies have become obsessed with explaining the logistics of how time travel works, but Looper breaks this trend by not overexplaining and letting the audience figure it out. The movie emphasizes that the rules of time travel are irrelevant and encourages the audience to focus on the story and characters instead. Looper is character-focused rather than plot-focused, allowing the concept of time travel to serve as the inciting incident rather than the main focus of the film.
When did time travel movies become so obsessed with the logistics of how time travel would work? When you look back at a classic time travel movie like Back to the Future, the focus was more on the story and characters, and the rules of how time travel would work as an abstract concept were pushed to the background. Emily Blunt has apologized for an insensitive comment she made in a 12-year-old interview.
Blunt has recently received a lot of online criticism in response to her calling a waitress “enormous.”
She has since responded to her comments during the talk show appearance.
“I just need to address this head-on as my jaw was on the floor watching this clip from 12 years ago. I’m appalled that I would say something so insensitive, hurtful, and unrelated to whatever story I was trying to tell on a talk show,” Blunt said.
“I’ve always considered myself someone who wouldn’t dream of upsetting anyone so whatever possessed me to say anything like this in that moment is unrecognizable to me or anything I stand for,” she added. “And yet it happened, and I said it and I’m so sorry for any hurt caused. I was absolutely old enough to know better.

Back in 2019, “Iron Man 3” production executive Chris Fenton filed an explosive lawsuit against former employer Dmg Entertainment, a once-highflying company that bridged Hollywood movies and Chinese distribution.
After a legal back and forth that included a Dmg countersuit that was later tossed, Fenton’s case is finally headed to trial next week and is expected to expose some of the opaque ways China did business in Hollywood before tensions between the U.S. and the communist superpower boiled over in 2021, leading studios to reassess their plans for the market. On Oct. 23, Fenton v. Dmg is scheduled to begin in California Superior Court, with Robert Downey Jr. and tentpole producer Neal Moritz expected to be on the witness list.
Although Fenton, a former William Morris agent who worked at Dmg for 17 years, is a respected member of the Hollywood community with a Washington, D.C., presence as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations,...

Thanos is returning to threaten the Marvel Universe in a big bad way, with his upcoming limited series pitting him against an upgraded version of the Illuminati. The Mad Titan will return in force, bringing with him an arsenal of his most powerful weapons – including a classic piece of Thanos' lore, which the Marvel Cinematic Universe only hinted at: his weaponized throne.
Looper shared a preview for Thanos #1 – from writer Christopher Cantwell, with art by Luca Pizarri – which featured Thanos returning to Earth in spectacular fashion, riding his throne of destruction on a direct collision course with Earth.
MCU viewers might have seen the cinematic version of Thanos seated in a massive throne, but longtime Marvel readers will know that the screen version of Thanos' seat of power could have been much more dangerous.

Bruce Willis burst onto the American entertainment scene as the glib, smart-alecky detective David Addison Jr. opposite Cybill Shepherd’s Maddie Haynes in ABC’s Moonlighting, a show that helped launch the dramedy genre. Willis was not long for the small screen, though, with his his sharp tongue and sarcastic wit destined for bigger things.
More than 90 films and $5.3 billion later, Willis has played a smart-aleck New York detective in the Die Hard series, a smart-aleck oil driller-turned-astronaut in Armageddon, a smart-aleck cop in The Last Boy Scout, a smart-aleck gangster in Last Man Standing, a smart-aleck soldier in Tears of the Sun … well, you get the picture.
When he wasn’t cracking wise, Willis played many other memorable roles in films that included The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990), Billy Bathgate (1991), Color of Night (1994), 12 Monkeys (1995), The Fifth Element (1997), The Sixth Sense (1999) The Story of Us (1999), Looper (2012) and Motherless Brooklyn...

Consider this: you’ve made an acclaimed “Star Wars” sequel, reinvigorated the whodunit genre, scored an Oscar nomination and spawned an unlikely franchise. What do you do next? If you’re Rian Johnson, you turn around and offer a helping hand to young filmmakers coming up behind you, nurturing one of the buzziest movies of the fall in the process: “Fair Play.”
Writer/director Chloe Domont’s debut feature, a steamy erotic thriller about the power dynamics between two young people (Alden Ehrenreich and Phoebe Dynevor) who both work as financial analysts for the same cutthroat hedge fund, is an unmitigated success. After a bidding war at Sundance, the film was snatched up by Netflix for a cool $20 million, and it’s now currently one of the most-watched new titles on the platform following its release earlier this month.

Movies are back on PlayStation — although they’re all titles from corporate cousin Sony Pictures Entertainment.
More than two years ago, PlayStation shut down its service offering movie and TV show purchases and rentals. At the time, Sony Interactive Entertainment explained that was making the move because it was seeing a growing number of PlayStation users shifting to free and subscription streaming-video services.
Now Sony has decided to bring back movies to the gaming console in partnership with its studio arm. On Thursday, Sony Interactive Entertainment launched the Sony Pictures Core app (previously branded as Bravia Core on Bravia TVs and select Xperia devices) on PS5 and PS4 consoles. A key selling point: The app lets you stream Hdr movies at up to 80 megabits per second — which Sony says provides picture quality “similar to 4K Uhd Blu-ray” — and includes a large collection of Imax Enhanced titles.

Plot: A man from the future, now trapped in the past, tries to live a lowkey life without disrupting predetermined events, oblivious to the consequences of his foolish actions.
Review: Traveling to the past is a risky business. If you’re not careful, the slightest mistake could alter the course of history, triggering a domino effect of events never intended. Your best strategy to survive the ordeal is to lay low, complete your mission, and return to your time. In Relax, I’m From the Future, Casper (Rhys Darby) thinks rules are malleable and gaming the system to live comfortably is worth the risk of upending the universe. He isn’t looking to harm anyone, quite the opposite. Still, Casper isn’t the brightest crayon in the box, and when things don’t work out as intended, he quickly discovers it takes more than one person to make a difference.

Judy Greer’s iconic career has spanned from “13 Going on 30” to the revamped “Halloween” franchise, proving the actress can delicately balance comedy, horror, and even a certain flavor of signature detachment onscreen. Yet, somehow, the time travel logic of 2004’s comedy “13 Going on 30” makes more sense than the kind at hand in “Aporia,” the latest Greer vehicle that attempts to marry scraps from Greer’s recent haunting performance as a grieving mother in recent festival premiere “Eric Larue” and repurposes her masterful tears into a bland sci-fi drama that asks too many unanswered questions about morality, mortality, and the price of happiness.

Aporia introduces a new form of time travel where a machine kills a target in the past, unlike traditional time displacement devices. The movie establishes that any timeline change made by the machine is permanent, leading to high stakes and moral dilemmas for the characters. Aporia presents a thought-provoking take on time travel, potentially making it one of the best movies in the genre and keeping audiences engaged in its themes of morality.
Discover a new form of time travel with Aporia. Judy Greer leads the cast of the sci-fi drama as Sophie, a grieving widow and mother who is approached by her late husband's best friend with the opportunity to bring him back to life, though with the catch of unintended consequences on the world. Alongside Greer, the cast for Aporia includes For All Mankind's Edi Gathegi, A Separation's Payman Maadi and Shazam: Fury of the Gods' Faithe Herman.

Emily Blunt has proven to be one of the most versatile actors in the past two decades. There doesn't seem to be anything she can't do. She's been on the big screen, the small screen, and the stage. She's done musicals, animation, period pieces, sci-fi horror, and sci-fi drama. She can sing, dance, crack jokes and convey a thousand emotions without ever having to say a word.
Throughout all of this, she's consistently given great performances, no matter what medium or genre she takes on. For this reason, it's hard to say which performance is her best. There are so many objectively amazing ones that it's become a matter of opinion on which ones are the best. However, there are some performances that everyone can agree are top-tier.
