Over the weekend, we reported that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been cast as a younger version of Laurence Fishburne’s Morpheus in The Matrix 4. Upon hearing the news, most assumed that this meant the movie would be a prequel. However, that doesn’t quite fit with some of the other confirmed details on the film. For example, it’s been revealed that Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity. Given Morpheus’ age by the time he liberates Neo, how could the two interact in a prequel?
Well, it seems that The Matrix 4 is not a prequel after all. According to our sources – the same ones who gave us a ton of intel on The Rise of Skywalker, which has all been confirmed now – the reason Morpheus looks young is because he’s simply making himself appear younger while in the Matrix. Not...

For the first time in what’ll be 18 years, The Matrix franchise is being reloaded with The Matrix 4 gearing up to enter production. The next installment in the iconic sci-fi series was officially announced over the summer, surprising fans who thought the story was wrapped up for good with the closure of the first trilogy back in 2003’s The Matrix Revolutions. But there might actually be enough plot left to fill a whole new trilogy of movies.
Sources close to Wgtc – the same ones who said Bill Murray is returning for Ghostbusters: Afterlife and that a She-Hulk show is coming to Disney Plus, both of which turned out to be true – have informed us that The Matrix 4 is being positioned as the first entry in a second trilogy. And while Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are coming back as Neo and Trinity for the new movie, it’s...

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has had a great 2019. He began the year turning heads as Black Manta in Aquaman, giving the previously somewhat two-dimensional character some real danger and gravitas, continued with a great performance in Us and was recently the centerpiece of an amazing episode of HBO’s Watchmen. But it seems he’s not going to slow down anytime soon, as he’s set to appear in Jordan Peele’s remake of Candyman, has put his name forth for the new Superman and is also firmly on board for The Matrix 4.
Yes, as you’ve surely heard, Abdul-Mateen II has been cast in the unexpected follow-up to the iconic hit movies “in a lead role.” At the time, we weren’t told who he’d be playing, but we now have confirmation from our sources – the same ones who said Ace Ventura 3 was in the works and that...

While the Renaissance of Keanu Reeves continues to go from strength-to-strength, it’s safe to say that expectations are sky-high for The Matrix 4 to deliver a modern re-interpretation of the Man Vs. Machine theme that the series is so renowned for. Way back in 1999, the original dystopian sci-fi classic completely rocked the cinematic landscape and went on to become one of the most influential action films of all-time. So, no pressure on the fourth installment, then.

In what will be 18 years since the last sequels arrived, The Matrix franchise is being reloaded. It was announced back in August that Keanu Reeves is set to don his trenchcoat and glasses to play Neo once more in The Matrix 4, coming from franchise co-creator Lana Wachowski, and today, Warner Bros. officially assigned the much-anticipated movie a release date.
That’s right, you can expect the next installment in the series to be in theaters from May 21st, 2021. This date was previously occupied by the studio’s long-suffering Akira adaptation, but that was again put on hold when director Taika Waititi signed up to make Thor: Love and Thunder for Marvel over the summer.
Funnily enough, The Matrix 4 taking this date means that it will be coming out the very same day as Lionsgate’s John Wick 4. Keanu fans may have a meltdown deciding which one of these...

The Matrix 4 is happening! Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will reprise their roles, with Lana Wachowski set to write and direct.
The question about whether we'd ever see Neo again after the end of The Matrix Revolutions has been answered: The Matrix 4 is officially in the works at Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow Pictures, with co-creator Lana Wachowski set to write, direct, and produce. Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will also reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity, respectively, according to Variety. Production could begin on the film "at the top of 2020," per the outlet.
"Many of the ideas Lilly and I explored 20 years ago about our reality are even more relevant now,” Wachowski said in a statement. “I’m very happy to have these characters back in my life and grateful for another chance to work with my brilliant friends.”
Wachowski is producing with frequent production collaborator Grant Hill.

Marvel is rebooting the “Blade” series, and has cast Mahershala Ali to star.
Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige announced the news at Comic-Con on Saturday as the panel’s big ending surprise. Ali also took the stage at the announcement to massive applause, donning the Blade baseball cap.
Wesley Snipes previously played the half-vampire superhero in 1998’s “Blade” and its two sequels, “Blade II” and “Blade: Trinity.” Coincidentally, Feige was a co-producer on “Trinity.” The series focuses on the titular vigilante, a human who possesses vampire strengths and protect humans from vampires.
Ali has been on a hot streak as of late. He won his first Oscar, for best supporting actor, in 2016 for “Moonlight,” and won the same prize this year for his portrayal of Don Shirley in “Green Book.” He most recently starred in the third season of HBO’s drama series “True Detective” and appeared in “Alita: Battle Angel.

Last month’s Captain Marvel heralded the arrival of a new fan favorite in the Marvel universe, and with all due respect to the McU’s most powerful hero, we’re actually referring to Carol Danvers’ feline friend Goose. And as the release of Avengers: Endgame looms closer, the furry little Flerken has solidified her place as one of the big names of the franchise with a selfie alongside the original Phase 1 “Trinity.”
Granted, the newly shared image is only a Photoshop, but the hearts of fans still seem to be melting at the sight of Goose posing with Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr. While the three humans in this picture are likely on the verge of dropping out of the McU, surely there’s no harm in dreaming that Captain America, Thor and Iron Man might somehow cross paths with the cat in this month’s release.

The producers of The Matrix offered to gender-flip the role of Neo to get the actress locked down.
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock had a hit on their hands in 1994 with Jan de Bont's "bomb on a bus" outing, Speed. The movie grossed over $350 million off a $30 million budget, and generated a sequel, which Reeves wisely chose to eschew involvement in. Five years later, he had another low-ish budget hit with The Matrix, which made a terrific profit and spawned two sequels through Warner Bros.
But there was a deeper link between Speed and The Matrix than just Reeves at his action best - The Wrap has a new interview with Matrix producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who's revealed that way before Reeves was involved, they were desperately trying to cast Bullock as Neo in the Wachowskis groundbreaking sci-fi hit.
“We went out to so many people I don’t remember.

When Square Enix rebooted Tomb Raider back in 2013, the long-running series got a new lease on life. This new Lara Croft was younger and less experienced, and the series placed more emphasis on open world exploration and combat and less on puzzle-intensive tombs. And it worked. The reboot was a hit with fans and critics alike, even though that first game played much like a shameless snuff film at times. Rise of the Tomb Raider saw Lara growing into the adventurer she is destined to become, and the shift to the snowy landscapes of Siberia helped create one of the best Tomb Raider experiences ever. Now, the trilogy comes to a close with Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and the young, naive Lara Croft has grown into smart, seasoned warrior who will stop at nothing to achieve her goals.

Marvel’s “Fresh Start” initiative is essentially just the latest relaunch, and as a result we have another Avengers #1. It’s an appropriate time to relaunch Marvel’s flagship book, though, with a whole new creative team taking charge. Jason Aaron is the new Avengers writer, and he’s continuing the story he launched in last year’s Marvel Legacy one-shot. The issue’s release is also timed for straight after Infinity War hit the theaters, a smart bit of planning.

When DC fans hear the term “Trinity,” they tend to think of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, the three characters who’ve long been the publisher’s cornerstones in a variety of media. Or, if you’re an Arrowverse diehard, the likes of Green Arrow, the Flash and Supergirl may hold a similar place in your heart.
The reason we’re bringing this up is because the May 7 episode of Supergirl actually happens to be titled “Trinity,” but it’s not going to yield what one would necessarily expect. Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) never left Germany but became internationally respected by his peers during his lifetime and a symbol of pure musicianship for future generations. A virtuoso organist, harpsichordist, and violinist/violist who may have also played lute, as a composer his mastery of counterpoint and fugal writing remain unmatched, yet he was also open to the influences of contemporary Italian and French composers.
Born into a highly musical family in Eisenach, Germany, Bach became organist at the Neukirche in Arnstadt in 1703 at the age of 18. His first major appointment was as court organist to Duke Wilhelm Ernst of Weimar, in 1708; six years later the Duke made him Concertmaster. In 1717 Bach became Kapellmeister and music director to the music-loving Prince Leopold of Anhalt in Cöthen, where Bach wrote much of his greatest secular music. Charles Dance aka Game of Thrones‘ Tywin Lannister has landed a key role in Syfy’s miniseries adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke’s Childhood’s End.
Childhood’s End follows the peaceful invasion of Earth by the mysterious Overlords. Dance will play Karellen, the Overlords ambassador who makes first contact with Earthling Ricky Stormgren.
Karellen’s reassuring words and technological gifts quickly win humanity’s favor, triggering decades of seeming utopia (albeit at the cost of human identity and culture). Yet his refusal to reveal his physical appearance — and insistence on dealing only through Ricky — cause some people to question his intentions.

Taylor Lautner starred as Jacob Black in the blockbuster Twilight saga. He will play a handsome and mysterious stranger in the new series of Cuckoo, who turns up in Lichfield where life in the Thompson household is only just getting back to normal after the disappearance of Cuckoo (Andy Samberg) while on walkabout in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Ken (Greg Davies) and Lorna (Helen Baxendale) are looking forward to a future without the kids under their feet. Dylan (Tyger Drew-Honey) is about to go to university and Rachel (Tamla Kari) is rebuilding her life with her new boyfriend, a nice-but-dull lawyer, Ben. Despite appearances, Cuckoo’s absence is still felt – not least by his young widow, Rachel. Everyone worries she’s lost her mojo since the tragic events in Asia.

Is Cressida Bonas the future bride of England's Prince Harry? Reports indicate that the British royal is planning to propose marriage to his model girlfriend at some point in the indeterminate future.
But is Cressida ready to say yes?
According to the Telegraph, she is. "Cressie is going to marry Harry," a friend of the aristocratic Bonas told the publication. "Harry never stops talking about marriage and children, and she has now got used to the idea. The wedding is likely to take place next year."
The delay has apparently been with Cressida. Known as something of a free spirit, the 24 year old initially thought herself too young for marriage. It was the couple's separation while Harry was in Afghanistan that changed Bonas' opinion. Ever since Harry returned to England earlier in 2013, he and Cressida have gotten closer.

Andy Samberg isn’t jumping ship from television, but he is jumping across the pond: The comedian, who just completed a seven-year run on Saturday Night Live, will star in Cuckoo, a six-part comedy series on BBC Three also featuring Greg Davies (The Inbetweeners), the London-based network announced today. Samberg will play a New Age-y slacker who marries the daughter (Tamia Kari) of two parents (Davies and Helen Baxendale) who are less than thrilled to welcome this hippie into their home. His character is described as both “square-jawed, self-appointed spiritual ninja” and “every parent’s worst nightmare.”

Andy Samberg's first acting job since leaving "Saturday Night Live" will take him across the pond. He's set to star in a BBC sitcom called "Cuckoo."
The show, which begins filming in the summer, also stars Greg Davies ("The Inbetweeners") and Helen Baxendale ("Friends," "Cold Feet") as the parents of a young woman (Tamla Kari) who comes home from a year abroad with a new husband: Cuckoo (Samberg), a slacker goofball and self-described "spiritual ninja" who will now be living under their roof.
Culture-clashing comedy will presumably ensue.
"The best of British meets the toast of Hollywood. We hope 'Cuckoo' cements the special relationship between our two great countries," executive producer Ash Atalla says in a statement. "I imagine Obama and [British Prime Minister David] Cameron will be watching closely."
Robin French and Kieron Quirke ("Man Stroke Woman," "Trinity") created the show. It's scheduled for six episodes to air later this year on BBC Three.

Outnumbered, the multi-award-winning comedy series from Hat Trick Productions, which captures the turbulent chaos of family life, is back on BBC One with a new six-part series starting on Friday 2 September and followed by a Christmas special.
In the new series, the family is confronted by an array of issues ranging from death, drugs, terrorism and getting old, to food science, Top Gear, the joy of ventriloquism and the perils of Subbuteo.
The casting director avoided stage-school talent, instead undertaking a lengthy audition process which involved lots of game playing, determined to find children who would enjoy the filming process. So the three juvenile leads came out at the top of the fairly exhausting casting process. Andy: "They're all really interesting to watch and they've all got very interesting, funny personalities. Confident, but also excellent actors."

Following on from last week’s excellent addition to the season, this week’s Game of Thrones once again knocked it out of the park. Last week I remarked how impressed I was that the writers had elected to focus almost entirely on King’s Landing for the episode, and that this focus made the craft of the storytelling so much tighter and more focused, giving fans the chance they needed to become fully immersed in one situation rather than hastily passed on from one to another. This, week, though divided across four different locations, the episode managed to feel solid in each strand of the story.
Opening with Ned recovering from his wound at the hands of the Lannisters last week, we’re quickly thrust into the mounting tensions between Starks and Lannisters with King Robert of all people acting as referee. With Cersei quick-firing bullshit about Ned’s provocation for attacking Jaime,...

It's 40 years since Get Carter hit British cinemas. The Guardian goes to meet the man in charge of the birthday celebrations
It's not even midday, and already my head is filled with stuff both unpleasant and grimly compelling: murder, violence, organised crime, the lower-grade parts of the sex industry, you name it. Having already visited pubs, houses, and the ruins of industrial installations, we've just called in at a cemetery; the next stop is a riverside location that will bring back memories of a reckless shoot-out.
This is a dry run for a guided tour conceived to mark the 40th birthday of Mike Hodges's Get Carter, the brilliant British film that set Michael Caine – in the role of Jack Carter – loose around Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Gateshead and beyond. My host is Chris Phipps, a film-maker and former producer on the Newcastle-located TV music show The Tube, who is an illuminating authority...

Claire Foy stars as 18 year old Erin Matthews in Peter Kosminsky's new four-part drama serial The Promise, a powerful tale of love, war and betrayal, telling the stories of Erin and Len - two young people caught up in the same struggle more than 60 years apart.
Just as 18-year-old Londoner Erin sets off to spend summer in Israel with her best friend, Eliza, she unearths an old diary belonging to her seriously ill grandfather, Len. Intrigued by the life of this old man she barely knows, she takes the diary with her, and is stunned to learn of his part in the post-wwii British peace-keeping force in what was then Palestine.
Left to her own devices when Eliza begins National Service in the Israeli army, Erin witnesses the complexities of life - for both Jews and Arabs - in this troubled land. And as Len's story comes to life...

Directed by Jonathan Glendening, 13Hrs is yet another tale of werewolves in the British countryside starring Tom Felton (Harry Potter), Isabella Calthorpe (Trinity) and Gemma Atkinson (Hollyoaks).
A full moon hangs in the night sky, and lightning streaks across dark storm clouds. Sarah Tyler returns to her troubled family home in the isolated countryside, for a much put-off visit. As the storm rages on, Sarah, her family and friends shore up for the night, cut off from the outside world. But something comes out of the driving rain and darkness. Something that holds a dark secret so devastating that, in one night, it could wipe out the entire family.
Trapped, Sarah and her brothers and friends must use their heads as well as their physical strength to survive not only the thing that is hunting them down one by one – but their own entrapment as the besieged group turns in on itself.

Stephen Merchant said he rejected Robert Pattinson as a possibility to star in his film Cemetery Junction.
The comedian said he and Ricky Gervais - who wrote and directed the project together - chose to cast relatively unknown, up-and-coming British actors in the film because they didn't want stars such as the Twilight actor stealing the spotlight.
Merchant (pictured above) said: "If you have a group of friends and one of them is Robert Pattinson, you're sort of 'This is a Robert Pattinson movie' whereas we wanted people to accept they were friends so we had to find new people, and these were the people we found."
The film, released on April 14, is a 'coming of age' story following a group of young people growing up in the 70s in Reading, where Gervais himself was raised.

In honor of Demons getting the best debut of any series of on BBC America -- which might have something to do with the Tennant Doctor Who episodes getting the best ratings ever for Bbca -- I give you more images of Christian Cooke, the quite bewitching lead of the show. I've pulled them from gallery Superherofan.Com's gallery devoted to him.
I'm not really spoiling anything to tell you that there's only one season of Demons. The series didn't do well enough to earn a second batch of episodes -- which, if you watched the pilot, isn't that surprising. These are the only shirtless adventures of Cooke we'll get. But, he has moved on to another series, a sudsers called Trinity, which is fortunate for us, as he takes even more off in that show, as the image below reveals.
Check out the rest of the images at the link.

Charles Dance has criticised ITV2 for keeping his new show off air in favour of Paris Hilton's British Best Friend. The veteran actor revealed that university drama Trinity was pushed out of the schedules to make way for Hilton's reality programme at the beginning of the year. Gosford Park star Charles Dance has blasted Paris Hilton after TV bosses decided to air the socialite's reality series instead of his new drama.
The veteran British actor's new programme Trinity was scheduled to broadcast in the U.K. earlier this year but it was delayed until September - and replaced by the heiress' show Paris Hilton's British Best Friend.
Dance is now calling for the end of reality shows after catching a glimpse of Hilton's "c**p" programme, in which the blonde sets tests for a group of wannabes in the search for a true pal.
He says, "We're putting too much energy into junk and reality television. This show was going to be shown in January or February. But they shelved it until September to put you know what in its place? Paris Hilton's British Best Friend, which is possibly the most execrable piece of television I've ever seen in my life. God knows what the ratings were. It's a piece of television for airheads, starring an airhead.
"It's just beyond me. Endless hours of reality television - surely by now there must be a consensus that it's c**p?"...
