The horrible Paul Chaplin represents one of porn's more distasteful blind alleys: he funded hundreds of features for London's Bluebird Films label (now inactive apart from exploiting its big catalog) and frequently used them in order to f*ck on screen with many of Britain's and Europe's top femme Adult talent.
This riff on the Andrew Lloyd Webber hit play was made as a 4-hour extravaganza in 2012, and now exists in a far shorter 101-minute version of recent release. Chaplin plays the Phantom with a ripoff white mask and has vignette sex with over a dozen beauties, styled as ballerinas and at one point lady swordfighters.
At any length, it's tedious and pointless, with only minor fantasy moments. Chaplin takes an all-sex approach, and the familiar stable of actresses, led by the voluptuous Gemma Masey, is wasted.
