- The Mandalorian travels to a world ruled by a ruthless magistrate who has made a powerful enemy.
- The Mandalorian and the child reach the city of Calodan on the planet of Corvus to meet Ahsoka Tano. However they find that she is fighting the city's magistrate. The magistrate asks the Mandalorian to take up a bounty to kill Ahsoka in return for a beskar spear which he accepts. The Mandalorian then sets out from the city into the forest wasteland in search of Ahsoka hoping for some answers to the child's past, the source of the child's powers and potentially handing over the child to his new guardian.
- Alarm bells ring in the city of Calodan on the planet Corvus, as the city's guards fight the former Jedi padawan Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson). Using her formidable skills with the light saber and her awesome powers she kills all the guards hunting her and reaches the city's gate where she is confronted by Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto) and her lieutenant Lang (Michael Biehn). She gives the magistrate a day to surrender and give her the location of her master.
The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) and the child fly in and lands outside the city that exists in a ghastly part of Corvus. It feels like some sort of chemical wasteland, judging by the suits being worn by the guards. He reaches the city gates where he introduces himself as a bounty hunter and is taken directly to the Magistrate. On the way to the magistrate's quarters he notices that some of the citizens have been hung up and are being tortured with electric shocks. The magistrate makes him a straightforward offer: kill the Jedi that's troubling her and the Beskar staff in her possession is his. He accepts and is given the last known co-ordinates of Ahsoka and is sent on his way.
While searching for Ahsoka in the forest wasteland, she surprises him but he is able to fend off her attacks with the help of his beskar armor. But before things got out of hand, he tells her that Bo-Katan had sent him which manages to cool things down. Ahsoka sees the child and is drawn to it. The two begin to interact even as Ahsoka doesn't utter a single word with a curious Mando pacing on the sidelines. Ahsoka reveals that the two can feel each other's thoughts, and then refers to the child as Grogu. Ahsoka clarifies that Grogu is the child's name. She mentions that Grogu is the only second living being of his species that Ahsoka has encountered the first being Master Yoda.
Ahsoka reveals that Grogu was raised at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant where he was trained by many Jedi masters. After the rise of the Empire and the fall of the Republic, Grogu was hidden, but then taken by someone from the Jedi Temple. Alone and lost for several years, Grogu hid his powers over the years to survive. That's why his Force power usage is inconsistent, because his abilities have been fading due to unuse and the fear and anger that's developed in him. And he's repressed those memories.
And that's exactly why Ahsoka refuses to train him, because she's afraid of the path Grogu could take due to the fear, anger and resentment inside him. Ahsoka notes that she's seen it before. The Mandalorian proposes that he'll help her deal with the magistrate and in return Ahsoka will train Grogu which she accepts. Ahsoka mentions that the magistrate is not an opponent to be taken lightly as in the past she helped the Empire build the Imperial Starfleet, and seems to be still at it. Mando tells her that they'll have the element of surprise as the magistrate will never expect a mandalorian and a Jedi to work together.
Ahsoka and the Mandalorian storm the city taking out all the guards and freeing up the citizens. Ahsoka engages in a duel with the magistrate: her twin light sabers against the magistrate's beskar staff. She finally overcomes the magistrate and forces her to divulge the location of her master: Grand Admiral Thrawn. After freeing the city, the Mandalorian fetches the child from his ship 'Razor Crest' saying its time to say goodbye. Except Ahsoka doesn't come around, even after Mando holds up his side of the deal. Ahsoka notes that Mando has become like a father to Grogu and that he should take the child to Tython, where there are the ruins of an old temple. She believes that Grogu should decide his own course, which he can do on Tython by tapping into the Force at the temple. If his calls are answered by another Jedi, he'll be trained by that Jedi. Otherwise, it's up to Mando. The Mandalorian then gets the child and starts for his journey to Tython.
