Let's say so far this one is the best episode of this season. I always loved treehouse episodes because they were dark. This one wasn't as dark as others but in context that this season really disappoints, even this looks good, lol.

It was fine.

Warning: Spoilers
I thought it was alright. All the shorts were just parodies of existing films. The short "Toy Gory" really impressed me though, being animated in full on cgi. Into the Homerverse was kinda boring. Be Nine-Rewind was probably the most original out of all of them though, despite it being one of those "time loop" things like groundhog day. I rate the episode a 5 out of 10.

Well, another Simpson tall tale episode. Quick question, who wanted this? The story's can get a little creative but most of the time there are pretty bland and stale. The animation is fine, also a little creative with different character designs, but the characters aren't that good either. The characters are just dull and nothing new is introduced. I do not recommend this episode. Another Simpson tall tale, how fun. But at least its a treehouse of horror. The animation is stunning, especially the first segment. I liked how they used 3D animation for "Toy Gory". The Story was fine, and dark. Toy Gory is a good segment in my book. Into the Homer-verse was the weakest feeling rushed and kind of stale. The animation was good, and it was interesting seeing all the different Homers from different dimensions. The story was sort of bland, and it felt rushed. The weakest segment of the episode, but entertaining. Be Nine, Rewind had a decent story, with Lisa and Nelson Living the same day over and over. It was an entertaining segment. Not as good as Toy Gory, But Better than Into The Home reverse. This Tree house of Horror was not the best, but not the worst.

Don't get all the negative reviews
mahlicaajaib3 November 2020
I found this THOH engaging and entertaining throughout. The 3D animation and the homer verse designs was fun and nice to look at.

Homer voting was just supposed to be a light -hearted joke on how Homer would act if he were to vote. It simply emphasises how dim witted and clueless he is. It isn't worth getting so emotionally upset about.

In my opinion, this is a great treehouse of horror with three very solid stories and decent jokes. It definitely deserves a watch.

Great THOH!
zingbot-4115919 October 2020
It's been quite a long time since we've seen a Treehouse this good. They actually managed to make an entertaining, funny, and scary Treehouse for the first time in years. The first segment was the strongest, utilizing fantastic CGI visuals along with a compellingly dark story to make an excellent segment. The second segment was the weakest, but it wasn't really bad. It focuses more on interesting character designs and character voices rather then a cogent story, but it's still entertaining. The third segment is excellent. It's written very cleverly and it actually managed to catch me off guard, which is what I want out of these episodes. Very solid addition to the THOH franchise.

Such a weak episode.
leem_uk4 November 2020
This episode was so unfunny. Weakest Halloween special ever. Look if you got nothing funny for Halloween just make a normal episode. P.s don't bring election politics in, it's not your place. And just ruins it. 👎

I enjoyed it

This is was a great special, especially Toy Gory. Lots of great gags and the plots were more "scary" than usual. And stop whining about politics, Simpsons was always political. The opening was great satire IMO.

2020 just keeps getting worse
clproxy2 November 2020
The writers had a year or more to work on this episode and this is best they could do? The first segment resorted to 3D animation to distract us from a story devoid of laughs. The second segment was simply devoid of a well developed story. And the third segment, well if Rick and Morty don't roast The Simpsons for ripping them off, I'll be disappointed in Roiland and Harmon. I look forward to THOH every year and this was huge let down.

Better than ever!
miab-7298120 October 2020
I enjoyed "Toy Gory" Because I love the 3D characters especially the beginning, I have waited a long time for an episode this good, this Treehouse of Horror is so far the best, I also liked the characters voices too. The third and second segments were not really that bad either, this made me think about the other older episodes. But this is hilarious! 10 Stars!

Best Treehouse of horror in a while!
tylermerrigan2 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This was just an all around great episode. Like all of the treehouse of horrors, it started with a hilarious opening with the election and added to the running gag of hans moleman dieing. He died right after saying the hilarious line "That's what I get for voting for Kanye!". Then after the opening there was the first segment Toy Gory, which was hilarious and dark at the same time. After that first segment I had the song "You put a death in me" stuck in my head! Then it was into the Homerverse which in my opinion was the weakest one but it was still great. There were multiple jokes like with Mr Burns and Hansel and Gretel. It had a good story and a funny ending. I also liked the Hannah-Barbera reference. The last segment was very strong. It was called Be nine Rewind. It was very funny and I thought that it was cool how it kept repeating. Overall, I think that this was a great episode. Unlike most modern simpsons episodes, there was not one joke that fell flat the whole episode. This shows is gonna go forever if they keep making episodes like this!

I *was* a Simpson's fan for 31 years
gregjdavis3 November 2020
Thanks Simpson's writers for ruining my longtime favorite show. Also, great job isolating half of your viewers with your ignorant political message. Seems you understand politics about as well as you understand how to be funny.

As good as the rest
Jletto-611-3362593 November 2020
Times are changing. People suck and are sensitive to everything. In order to keep making episodes, everyone has to change. This includes our favorite family. I enjoyed this years THOH. I found it inventive and funny. I especially enjoyed the toy story skit. I know it's not classic Simpsons anymore, but like I said. Everyone had to change to accommodate the whiners of this country.

Not woke at all actually
Cookiejar5526 May 2021
Nothing woke about the episode, just doing what everyone else including South Park does which is make fun of everyone. I enjoyed the animation, like all previous Treehouse of Horror eps this was very entertaining, maybe could use more horror elements for the future.

Thank you but DON'T come again
yishai_n2 November 2020
Keep pushing BS like the good people hoax and see how far it gets you. I have been watching The Simpsons since season 1 but I guess enough is enough. Will never be watching again. Enjoy your newly found wokeness with much less viewership, I can promise you. If I was looking for BS politics I would turn to CNN.

It's really improving
snowmoneyfight20 October 2020
One of the things I enjoyed most in this episode was Kent's newscast, it brings back some old season feels. they ought to bring Julia Prescott soon to write another episode! My favorite segment is "Into the Homerverse" because Homer's voice acting, Lisa's singing were top-notch. Just wished they executed Ned's shot to the head better, but overall it was great!

Boring treehouse of horror
tanishaabdulrahman3 November 2020
I admit 2020 has been awful year with this pandemic but Simpsons you can see the writing is gone downhill majority the first one wasn't funny the second one was okay but last one was very weak one the only thing I liked was end credits with all pervious treehouse of horror.

Sorry this isn't worth watching from new episodes you better off sticking to old episodes.

Really good episode
kane27426 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Good mix of satire (opening), dark/disturbing horror ("Toy Gory"), sci-fi action (the Burns vs. Homer fight in "Into the Homerverse"), drama with some mystery/suspense ("Russian Doll" parody "Be Nine, Rewind"), and humor (the woodchipper, the poisoned beer, lines like "That's what I get for voting for Kanye!").

Honestly, I would have rated it about 8, but I upped it to 10 to balance out the hate from cultists who can't handle being reminded of the immoral, illegal, and/or just plain stupid things that their Dear Leader has done. The cognitive dissonance makes them feel bad, so they lash out.

Typical THOH. First part sucked, second part pretty good, third part meh. All I want to know is what the heck happened to Marge's voice??? It sounds like someone doing a bad Marge Simpson impression.

The third story {a parody on the show Russian doll} even with the song from the show was so hilarious! Actually all the stories were brillant! the second story was brillant! a new episode I actually enjoy even the beginning was hilarious!

Just not getting it at all.
OnlineCandyCane10 November 2020
This is not (repeat, NOT) the first time the series has broken away from its traditional animation nor does the fact that because a particular segment is in CGI makes it, in any way, special. Found nothing special about it at all. It will not hide the fact that the writers have put little to zero effort into writing a plot for it. "Toy Gory" has, indeed, got to be one of the most boring, predictable, and overall bland Treehouse of Horror segments I've watched (I repeat, found nothing special at all, as in, unless you're one who just wants to enjoy the special effects or likes something completely straightforward the latter half, of which, is the only positive thing I have to say).

To many of the previous Treehouse Horror specials, the writers did a lot of things right in my opinion. They've managed to make subversive humor, subtle jokes, jokes that would go over small children's heads but us grownups would be able to get a few chuckles out of. The humor had layers to it. But this particular special "Treehouse of Horror XXXI" seemed to lack and missed a lot of it. And while there were a few tidbits here and there, that doesn't really say much in my opinion. Do the writers not care anymore, or are they simply just tired by this point? A bit of both perhaps?

Sorry for the negativity, but the bottom-line, this episode just did not work well enough for me. Hoping for a better Treehouse Horror episode next year.

Best since the classic era
defabstar7 May 2022
Finding it hard to comprehend some of these low ratings. I generally am not a fan of many episodes after the golden era but I felt this TOH is up there with the best. Toy Gory completely freaked me out. It was dark and the reactions from the family after seeing the fate of Bart were quite distressing. Episode 2 was ok but really found Episode 3 refreshing. It had that mix of Russian Doll/Final Destination/Groundhog Day feel to it. I think history will be kind to this TOH. Many I know love it. The current rating on here doesn't do it justice.

It's just full on propaganda. Not even trying to hide it. I know the show has sucked in recent years but geez
