Tonight, we’ll get to see if Ryan Murphy can keep it up.
The momentum, that is. Can he and his team successfully follow up the extraordinary quality on display in last week’s stellar episode?
It was as if the sleepy storyteller roused himself and, begging our pardon, jump-started a formerly meandering, exasperating, repetitious series and decided that an Emmy or two (and fans’ everlasting love and respect) might just make his day.
Surely, the artistry and poetry on display in Glee, "The First Time" owed much to the lovely melodies and lyrics generously excerpted from West Side Story.
Just as certainly, the charming and thoughtful script, knowing and able performances, inspired cinematography and deft editing contributed to making the episode one that ranks with, or even above, the magical first 13 episodes of the entire series.
Is it enough to declare the episode’s awesomeness by pointing out that,...

Last time we saw Teddy, we were introduced to his “old flame” Shane—a relatively new guy with whom he had a brief summer romance in Barcelona. It seemed to be a smooth sailing until Shane found out Teddy was campaigning for his homophobic Conservative Republican uncle, who was running against Shane’s gay-friendly candidate, and the star-crossed lovers went their separate ways.
A month later, Teddy is back, temporarily, from his campaign trip. And as usual the first person he meets is Silver, his Bff.
Seriously! That guy should really start making more friends.
He explains to her that his family has started accepting him again, to the point of inviting him to his sister’s wedding—probably as long as he doesn’t volunteer to be the Maid of Honour. Also, no man-dates. And Silver, like a great friend she is, offers to be his beard for the event.

The 'Glee' actress - who plays cheerleader Quinn Fabray in the musical comedy drama - confessed she had her nose fixed after breaking it twice, once after getting caught up in the middle of an argument at a high school party and again years later.
She told chat show host David Letterman: "The first time I didn't go to the doctor because I didn't want to tell my mom what had happened and she would never let me out of the house.
"I couldn't get it fixed because we were in the middle of doing this concert tour and we were filming. We had a day off and I met up with some of my friends and we were dancing. And again, there was another collision of sorts - I must be turning too quickly, people don't see me coming or something - but it's fixed now!"

Kate Beckinsale, Michael Ealy and Theo James
When it first began in 2003, the Underworld franchise had one main and quite potent selling point at its disposal: Kate Beckinsale in leather. Thanks in part to that, the franchise has now grossed a total of nearly $300 million worldwide over three films, with the fourth installment, subtitled Awakening, due to hit in theaters in January 2012.
Beckinsale, who was absent from the third film due to its being a prequel, is back this time around as sexy vampire assassin Selene, and at Comic-Con the flawlessly beautiful and very friendly actress took a moment to sit down with myself and several other reporters to talk about what we can expect from the upcoming sequel.
"I think like everybody, I had, and [original director and producer] Len [Wiseman] had, and I think most people who are sensible have a slight allergy to a number '4' coming after a movie title,...

Oopsie. We missed a week of our series of mini reader profiles. We're getting to know other members of The Film Experience community.
Today we're talking to Sergio from Guatemala who has been a very welcome consistent contributor to our Hmwybs party on his tumblr "Awww, The Movies ♥". Check that out.
Nathaniel: Do you remember your first movie or first movie obsession?
Sergio: The first time I went to the movies, it was with my father and sister. It was a strange/random act from my father, because we were going somewhere else, I was 10 years old and I had never been to the movies! The movie? Nothing relevant, but I was captivated by the experience. Two years later I started to skip events at school to go to the movies by myself.
Uh-oh. Okay, when did you start reading the film experience?
It was around 2004/2005. I even have an...

Sometimes when I'm reading the comments, at least for the frequent chatterboxes, I start to get a sense of which directors and actors some of you like. Other times it's hard to tell. With Hayden I knew in the subcategory of Warren Beatty Paramours we disagreed on Annette Bening and were sympatico on Julie Christie. So let's learn more in today's reader of the day.
Nathaniel: Do you remember your first moviegoing experience? first obsession?
Hayden: The first time I went to the movies was to see The Lion King, which fits because Elton John was my first concert. I was all of three years old in 1994, so I remember leaving early for crying or misbehaving or something. As for an obsession, I really got hooked on Woody Allen during my sophomore year of high school. There were dozens of his classics and lesser films OnDemand so I probably powered...

Remember when "bootylicious" was added to the Oxford English Dictionary after Beyonce and the other Destiny's Child ladies made it famous?
Sarah Palin's made-up word is decidedly less catchy. She has coined the term "refudiate," and the New Oxford American Dictionary has named it the 2010 Word of the Year. Another word that was in the running for the top spot? "Gleek," which refers to a fan of the TV show "Glee."
Refudiate is described as a cross between "refute" and "repudiate." The Oxford University Press says that neither of those existing words "seems consistently precise, and that 'refudiate' more or less stands on its own, suggesting a general sense of 'reject.'"
Forgive us for wondering why Palin couldn't just use the word "reject."
The first time America heard the former Governor of Alaska and former Vice-Presidential Candidate use the word was in July 2010 on Fox News. Surprise! She...
