Sidesplitting spoof of shoddy slasher schlock
Woodyanders21 October 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Do-It-Yourself indie filmmaker Chris R. Notarile gleefully parodies the laughably over-the-top absurd conclusions of choice crummy 80's slasher schlock in this extremely funny and inspired five minute spoof about a vicious masked homicidal lunatic (Bill McLaughlin in what looks like a mottled Slipknot mask) who slaughters several screaming scantly clad bimbos in an old rundown house. The deliberately awful acting in particular is flat-out hilarious, with top shameless scenery-munching hambone (dis)honors going to Notarile movie regular Tony Dadika as the histrionic Dr. Detective Fenwell. Moreover, the gals look smoking hot in their skimpy outfits and shriek their lungs out with a wonderfully appalling lack of skill and conviction while running away from the psycho. The excessive violence is suitably overdone, with Zoe Hunter's death by having her head twisted rating as the definite ridiculous highlight. The climax wickedly sends up the original 1978 seasonal slice'n'dice classic "Halloween" 's surprise shock ending. The droning redundant synthesizer score hits the appropriately lousy spot. Be sure to stick around for the priceless ending credits in which Chris blatantly admits that this short was poorly written, terribly shot, horrendously edited, and moderately directed. An absolute riot.

Hilarious! Warning: Spoilers
I laughed my head off when I saw this video. The movie really does a really good job of spoofing movies like Sorority House, Black Christmas and Halloween, but more cheesy independent slashers instead, while pulling at the strands of horror clichés that are in them. SPOILERS: The girls are all stereotypical horror damsels in distress and the killer is a shadowy unknown killer going around. this made me laugh my head off with the way the most used clichés were cut out halfway by the guy who accidentally recorded over it. I highly recommend any horror fan to watch it if they have a chance.

I prefer this more than Scary Movie, by the way.

9/10 :)
