In a first for Irish television, Shinawil's 'Fame The Musical' starts on RTÉ on Sunday, April 11th and sees the country's young hopefuls put their acting, singing and dancing talents to the test in the hope of clinching a lead role in the nationwide tour of David de Silva's 'Fame the Musical'. Presented by Derek Mooney, the show chronicles the search for the male and female lead of Fame the Musical. The competition was launched in January, thousands of applications were received and hundreds of performers were auditioned at locations in Dublin and Cork, and in London's West End. Bridal shop owner Brenda Shanahan has won the Irish version of The Apprentice, reports The Irish Telegraph. The 32-year-old from Kilmallock scooped the 100,000-a-year job with Renault Ireland owner Bill Cullen after triumphing over Nicky O'Callaghan in the final.
