Mti Home Video will release Ivan Zuccon's (Colour from the Dark) Wrath of Crows. The release date is scheduled this summer. And, the film was developed from Gerardo Di Filippo's script. The story involves a hellish prison and several prisoners. These prisoners are each held for a reason, though. Tiffany Shepis (The Prometheus Project), Debbie Rochon (Santa Claws), Tara Cardinal, Domiziano Arcangeli and Suzi Lorraine star in this horror feature. Early reviews have been a mixed bag. Mike Thomas of Matchflick liked the film's acting: "Wrath of the Crows, albeit a very confusing title, is an intense morality play with very strong performances from the entire cast." Many of those in the cast are no strangers to horror. Meanwhile, Thomas T. Sueyres of Original Vid was unsurprised by the twists within the film: "Zuccon may pull the rug out from under the viewer once too often and one...

“The End of the Whole Mess” by Stephen King Available in the collection Nightmares and Dreamscapes, this disturbing piece of literature does not deal with the supernatural or crazed maniacs. No demonic monsters, serial killers or the like cause the horror that makes this story so chilling. Rather it is human error (and perhaps even arrogance) and that's what makes this story hit home. Like much of Stephen King's work, it has been adapted for the screen. I first read this as a teenager, and its frightening conclusion has stayed with me ever since. “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge” by Ambrose Bierce It's a good guess that just about everybody has read this story at least once in school, or has heard about it, or has seen one of the numerous films adapted from or inspired by it. Written in the late 1800s, Bierce captures that sense of...

As you’re about to see, Italian director (who stands behind 2008′s Colour From the Dark) is this time bringing us a completely weird story, set in a filthy, cramped jail, where prisoners are forced to suffer injustices at the hands of the guards and their chief. The dead cannot die? We’ll see about that… Zuccon directed the movie from a script written by Gerardo Di Filippo, which revolves around prisoners named Larry, Deborah, Hugo,...

We just got the trailer for a new horror movie called Wrath of the Crows from Italian director Ivan Zuccon. And, boy, this flick appears to have everything fans of Eurohorror could possibly ask for: mutilation, nudity, gore, degradation, torture, grue-filled kills, moody lighting and, of course, opaque dark symbolism that probably means something, but who cares when you have all the mutilation, nudity, gore, degradation, torture and grue-filled kills.
Oh, I should also mention the best reason to see it: Wrath of the Crows stars Tiffany Shepis and Debbie Rochon!
Joining Rochon and Shepis in this Eurohorrific bloodbath are Tara Cardinal, the gifted up-and-coming scream queen; Domiziano Arcangeli, the noted Italian-American actor; Brian Fortune, an Irish actor recently seen on Game of Thrones; and Suzi Lorraine, another talented horror actress who's been working her ass off lately.

I also am Not including movies on my list for a 2010 “best of” list. What does this mean? You won’t see Slime City Massacre, Black Swan, Colour from the Dark, or The Last Exorcism on my “Best” list because I either Saw them in 2010 or they hit DVD then. By the same token, my worst list is missing a fair few of the clunkers I’ve seen this year because they actually hit DVD in other years (like Red Canyon, Bloodbath in the House of Knives, and… God help us all… Lesbian Vampires. I can’t really say much of anything about The Thing, Cold Fish, Attack the Block, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, 11-11-11, The Woman, Red State, Fright Night, and others. I would not have been caught dead in a theater or on DVD seeing Creature, Shark Night 3D, A Serbian Film, Red Riding Hood,...

Psychic Experiment is centered around an idyllic, small, self-sufficient community which seems like the perfect neighborhood on the surface. After all, everything you could possibly need is within walking distance. But eventually the pastoral exterior conceals a dark past and an even darker secret, and as a group of individuals - each with their own ties and agendas with the town and each other - converge on the enclave, strange things begin to happen. Very strange things. Strange enough to test - and then break - the very fabric of reality itself.

Italian director Ivan Zuccon takes a thoughtful approach to H.P. Lovecraft’s seminal short story “The Colour Out of Space” in Colour From The Dark (now out on DVD from Vanguard), transplanting the story from America to rural Italy, 1943. Right at the center of “The Great War,” just as it seemed Europe would fall to the fascists and the Nazis, we are introduced to Pietro and Lucia, who live on an isolated farm with Lucia's younger sister, Alice.

British director Matt Stone gave us some details about his debut feature Ouija Board, a tale of five young people who head into the Scottish countryside for a weekend of drink, drugs and sex. After a fatal accident, the friends decide to attempt spirit contact with a ouija board—and that’s when all hell breaks loose.
The film, which stars Evil Aliens’ Nick Smithers and Colour From The Dark’s Marysia Kay, took Stone four years to complete as he juggled the roles of writer, director, producer, cinematographer and editor. “Ouija Board is adventure-horror,” he explains to Fango. “I’ve sat bored through too many low-budget films. I knew that I had to make this movie fast-paced and exciting, to suck the audience in, shake them up and spit them back out wanting more.”
To achieve this, Stone buckled down and studied the genre, watching as many low-budget chillers...

British producer Neil Jones and director Stuart Brennan sent along a batch of exclusive stills (see them below) from their eagerly awaited horror indie Zombies Of The Night. The undead saga, scripted by Leo McKellen, is very close to finishing postproduction.
“The movie was conceived out of a frustration with other projects I was working on,” Brennan tells Fango. “I’ve been an advocate of the just-do-it approach to filmmaking, and I’m now at a stage in my career where projects are at the mercy of financiers and distributors, and that gets frustrating. It had been 10 months since I had last been on a film set, and I just rang up a bunch of crewmembers and asked if they wanted to spend a few days at a hotel in the countryside and shoot a feature.

The producers of the new sci-fi shocker Braincell gave Fango the exclusive first look at the movie’s trailer; check it out below the cut. The preview features a nice amount of blood, and also a bit of skin, so it ain’t work-safe!
Directed by Alex Birrell and lensed in Liverpool, England and Naples, Italy, Braincell (which we last covered here) stars Raine Brown as a young woman who discovers horrifying experiments with violent results taking place at a university where her uncle (Joe Zaso, also one of the producers) is a professor. Darkness Surrounds Roberta’s Eileen Daly, Necroville’s Billy Garberina and Colour From The Dark’s Eleanor James co-star; the music is by Marco Werba, who’s also scoring Dario Argento’s new Giallo. “There’s a lifetime’s worth of horror-film watching in Braincell,” Birrell tells us, and Zaso adds, “It’s a very savage...

I'd heard of this production of Lovecraft's Colour from the Dark before but only watched the trailer for the first time this morning. I was expecting the usual low budget adaptation you always seem to get with films based on Lovecraft's work and essentially that's what I got; except director Ivan Zuccon has given us so much more. The trailer is not only well put together, but features a bevy of impressive and innovative FX shots and filming techniques. The one at the end of the trailer where a hallway expands is particularly chilling.
Pietro and Lucia live on an isolated farm with Alice, Lucia's younger sister. Poor farmers, they live tilling the soil. Pietro is a good worker and a strong man who, unlike his three brothers, is not at war because of a deformed knee. Lucia is a beautiful and reserved woman dedicated to her family. Their life is peaceful and good,...

A new poster has crept on-line for Colour From The Dark, the latest (and, we believe, the best) fright feature from Italian director Ivan Zuccon. You can check out the art for the film (which stars Fango Radio’s own Debbie Rochon) below the cut.
The poster appeared on the website for Wonderphil Productions, which is handling sales on Colour From The Dark. An adaptation of the H.P. Lovecraft story “The Colour Out of Space” (which also inspired the features Die, Monster, Die! and The Curse), Zuccon’s film is set on a farm circa 1943 where married couple Lucia (Rochon) and Pietro (Michael Segal) and Lucia’s sister Alice (Marysia Kay) live. After a strange colored light appears at the bottom of their well, an insidious force begins to infect the farm and the people dwelling on and around it. We’ll keep you posted on the movie’s distribution...
