Agree with the majority of the other reviewers on here, first segment was pretty decent and had a nice backdrop and feel to it, if the budget from each segment went into the first to make a full movie it could of been decent with the 94 minutes, unfortunately it falls flat after the first segment, strangely enough if you click on the director of the first, apparently it's part of a tv series from back in 2019, so we may see more of it in the future, hopefully without the other parts!

Worth The Watch, But Gets Progressively Worse
jahvelledionte2 March 2021
First story was definitely the best. Everything went downhill from there. 2nd story was the worst. I thought the 3rd story would tie everything in, but WRONG!! HAHAHA. This is storytelling with no resolve. There's no progression whatsoever. Just 3 half written stories. 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I feel like a 3rd grader wrote this. Lol. Oh well.
BTW, other than the middle story, there was some good acting. The main actors in the first story did an amazing job. I'd love to see a full length film just about that story.

This isn't one movie by one filmmaker, so...
Top_Dawg_Critic23 February 2021
...I'm assuming it's a bunch of filmmaker friends who tasked each other with coming up with a short film - four of them, and all leading to a main theme; survival in an apocalyptic world. Each of these short films were clearly filmed on a shoestring budget.
Sadly, I'm not sure who was responsible for which short (too bad, I'd like to shout-out mad props to the "winner"), so I will comment on each in the order they are played out, rate and review them individually, and the average score will be this title's rating.
#1: This was impressively shot with perfect cinematography and excellent directing. All camera shots and choice of colors were exceptional. The score was perfect, as were the visuals and landscapes. The actors (that I've never seen or heard of) were convincing and performed like pros. The story, as basic and simplistic as it was, keeps you in a constant state of suspense. The "monster (no spoiler generalization)" was by far creepy and eerie than the other shorts - no close second place. Honestly, whoever came up with this winning little gem, needs to break free from the pact and submit their short for awards consideration. There's nothing to critique, and nothing I'd suggest be done better. It's the winner and a perfect 10/10
#2 and #3: The second and third shorts were very amateurish and very poorly acted and directed. They dragged on with very little suspense and horrible dialogue. The screenplay reminded me of a high school drama class project... gone bad. I could barely understand what the little girl was saying. Any S/VFX were lame, just like the kids-toy sound effects. The "monsters" were a joke. This was really a drag, and once the lame dialogue became unbearable, I pretty much FFWD the entire short. The third one seemed like a second attempt at redemption, but it was slightly better than the first - only due to having a little more storyline in it. The acting was just as horrible in using the same two leads. So #3 is a 2/10, and #4 is a 3/10.
#4: The fourth one was different than the prior three, with no "monsters" but had a somewhat convoluted story with overbearing performances by both Jeremy Dash as the crazy quiet dude, and Manni L. Perez as the constant "why so angry" character. It felt dragged out, pointless and convoluted with major plot and technical issues. The visuals and sets seemed to have come from someone's garage. That one felt like a better high school drama class project, probably due to having some B-rate actors - the only recognizable of all four shorts. Nevertheless, it's a generous 5/10.
Sooo, the average score for all four is 20/40, or 5/10. If you want any enjoyment, just watch the first one. If you're really bored, skip #2 and #3 and try out #4

very uneven, disjointed package of 4 films
digdog-785-71753825 February 2021
I will echo the excellent review by TopDawg: Armageddon Tales is a collection of 4 short films of very uneven quality, all centered around the concept of Post-Apocalyptic survival.
The first major issue is that the 4 films are not even set in the same universe. In one a mysterious entity stalks survivors in a dried wasteland, in another a plague is turning people into zombies. Guns in one, lasers in the other.
Film 1 - by far the longest of the four - is very well made, reminiscent of the original Stalker. Well acted, well written, well directed.
Film 2, 3 and 4 are much less compelling. I won't bother going into details, but if you have a chance to watch this film, once you realize Film 1 is over, feel free to turn it off. Bad acting, amateurish production, the sort of short film you find on youtube these days.
I wouldn't recommend this film unless you are a filmmaker, in which case Film 1 is very interesting and you should take some time to watch it. If you are just looking for entertainment, then Armageddon Tales is not for you.
My vote: an uneven 5/10

I'm only giving this 5 out of 10 because of part 1. it was a good short film on it's own. the other two parts were just nonsense.
i was upset when part 1 came to a sudden end, could have done a lot more and it would probably have made it into a good 6-7/10 film.

Just Like The World The Film Went To Ruins Also !

I wish people would spend the time and put a little effort into actually explaining the story line of a film properly but, I can't see that happening with the deterioration of common sense so rampant in the world today! 😠
The film is an Apocalyptic one but, its not about 3 groups of people making an alliance in order to cross an apocalyptic landscape filled with danger. Its a film of 3 short stories of individual pairs in their own stories yet all within the same pandemic timeline. Its also Sci-Fi in plot description only (there are no space ships such as that are on the ad posters) and their are absolutely no Zombies whatsoever.
The first story began well and continued to grow and had a little suspense and tension to it but, it flat-lined a little just before its conclusion;even though the main character of it was very good/convincing. The second story never really got going at all and had it done so, it would have needed an entire film of its own to tell the tale properly. The third tale wasn't worth its inclusion - IMHO - as its script was extremely poor and two of the characters I was just hoping would shoot each other and end it...before I did! 😁 However having said my piece, I found them just making the grade of interesting enough to watch (but only ever once) and only if you have absolutely nothing else.

Three Dystopian Shorts
bemyfriend-4018424 December 2021
Three short dystopian films. They're okay; but nothing great. If you like dystopia, then you'll like these. Much drama, few gimmicks. Seen on Tubi, the free streaming site; which has indies, foreigns, older studio films; and now, live TV.

Warning: Spoilers
Part 1. Good score, cinematography and not bad acting from the older guy, but the script just didn't feel right - especially the narration near the start but seen as a comic strip style production it was interesting. 5/10
Part 2a. What the? Written by a 9 year old maybe? This is where the low budget really shows up. 1/10
Part 2b. The 2 characters from 2a start again in a different location with the post apocalyptic story for an even shorter short. I gave this some credence as some sort of alternative ending but the script and acting were no better than 2a. 1/10
Part 3. Unlike most reviewers on here I found this 4th post apocalyptic scenario more realistic with half decent acting, a believable script and reasonable story line of contention over resources. Not sci-fi though, unless you consider the technology, something that is almost upon us, to be fiction. 7/10.

The first and the last short stories sucks... the middle one may be the only one worth watching for

Warning: Spoilers
"Armageddon Tales" is a movie of three short stories shown in the spawn of less than a hour and 40 minutes according to imdb. The first story the worst one out of the three centers on 2 young women in search of electricity and become totally psycho as soon as someone has some without "sharing it" during an apocalypse, like there are supposed to be rules regarding electricity during an apocalypse- watch "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" instead. Leaving the ending to be ambiguous after the guy trusted the dumb broad to be truthful in her story, she rewards or thanks him by grabbing and pointing a gun at him with viewers hearing the shot go off in darkness making viewers wonder whom shot whom.
The second story has a mother attempting to help her only child who happens to be her 8 or 9 year old daughter, Lex ( Meredith Rose) to safety by giving away her ticket to an able man name Cal (Corey Rademaker) as the mother realizes she is unable guide her daughter to the "ship". Cal appears to be the only person who is both sane and reasonable who is not infected and knows how to use a gun. It is perhaps the only story out of the three that offer a little bit of hope.
The final story is not as bad but just plain dumb which perhaps would want me to beat that dumb guy to death as well. Showcases a military man with experience attempting to warn a simpleton of a dangerous creature stalking humans in general. We do not find out until the very end that the older military man was right all along with the simpleton admitting to him that he tampered with the water by placing a infected rat into the water container, making the military man beating the living snot out of him after he saves his pathetic little life before the movies goes black again. Creating again an ambiguous ending of whether he did indeed beat that dumb simpleton to death.

Unexpectedly surprised
dmichaels-1708622 February 2021
I watched this not expecting too much...Thought i would zone out at best and be put to sleep. To my surprise I found the 3 stories quite interesting..In particular the one with the older guy and the younger guy thrown together by circumstance. I don't want to give any spoilers, so I wont, but it is well crafted and tense throughout and the main character really does a great job of carrying it, thumbs up to the casting department. The locations are fantastic and the camera work and direction are top class. Special mention also for the score which was well balanced and complimented every scene perfectly. Hard to believe that this one was low budget.
I understand

I get the plot, but the only reason I gave it a 6/ 10 is because I think people should watch this and this is my first review, the movie is good, but Jesus use weapons with magazines. Not laser weapons, and if you want modern (or mid century weapons) don't shoot the person in the field again w out a magazine in your Ak. And don't rack your Ak w out a magazine when your trying to defend yourself. Fire whoever is your armorer, or your going to lose a lot of sci fi enthusiasts cause modern weapons don't make those noises.
Plot is good, firearms way out of date for the plot and the sound. If you want low budget noise or sounds w the firearms use them, don't make archaic weapons sound futuristic.
Happy to help on you next film. FFL and SOT
Enjoyed the film, thanks.

...instead you will watch 4( or 5?) short, uninspiring, brutal, pointless stories not even closely related, with good actors though.
I'm sorry I have to agree with most of the other reviews, and I'm not often rating negative. 1,5h I wont get back.

One good monster, threadbare Armageddon
tellstar4 March 2021
Apparently, following Armageddon we all find large industrial buildings to haunt... or stick to open fields. This is a pretty cheap looking Armageddon, and, short of minor interest in the first segment, the rest of the film is slow going. Notable for one Canadian segment where a polite intruder begs for water, obediently drops her gun when challenged - and then gets some water. If this had been filmed elsewhere, there would have been three people dead and a fourth exsanguinating. If you're working late at night, it's all passable enough to watch out of the corner of your eye without too much distraction.
You might want to skip on this one...

Well, the concept idea behind "Armageddon Tales" certainly sounded interesting enough, and I will say that the movie's cover definitely also helped sell the movie. However, I must admit that I was dreading that this would be one of those instances where the movie's cover is the best part, and the actual contents of the movie would turn out to be rubbish.
Lo and behold, I have to say that the movie's cover was actually the best thing about the entire movie, just as I had expected. And it oversells the movie by several clicks. So take heed, and don't set your expectations for this movie based on the cover, because the actual movie is nowhere near as good as the cover.
Then there was the storyline. Well, talk about a swing and a miss, and talk about a boring narrative. I didn't sit down to watch directors Paul Plett and Jonah Schwartz's 2021 action sci-fi just to watch two people wander through what was supposed to be a post apocalyptic landscape while having a conversation. It was just so insanely boring.
The acting in the movie was lukewarm. But this, I believe, is not the fault of the actors and actresses, but instead that fault lies with writers Alexander Lappöhn, Kaleb Lechowski, Paul Plett and Brian Trichon for not giving the performers anything proper to work with.
Visually then "Armageddon Tales" was not impressive. So having great special effects wasn't even a factor to lift up all the other shortcomings that the movie had.
"Armageddon Tales" is not a movie that I would recommend you waste your time, money or effort on. It just simply isn't worth the time of day as it provides very, very little entertainment.
My rating of "Armageddon Tales" lands on a very generous two out of ten stars.

This is a love/hate Movie. Starts out great but quickly falls apart.
bolomark7 February 2022
The first couple of tales are interesting but each abruptly end but parts pick back up but not really........ It's weird. The whole film is a series of short stories from different parts of the world in the same disaster time frame of about 10 years. Some of the stories correlate and seem to pick up but are different? Not sure how to explain this one. The Creature of the first story, though you never truly see it up close, is very well done. The creep factor is great. You have a solo survivor that is prepared to take his own life rather than face what is out there, the creature that you never truly see.
Then you have the Child given to a soldier in order to send her to safety where medicines are available to treat her infection. The safe haven is a floating city. The weapon aspect, what looks like regular guns shoot an energy source which is pretty cool and the actors perform well but this sorta ends but picks back up as if a separate story but not? This is where it falls apart and goes from there.
The other stories really aren't worth going over for they're so stupid it's unreal. For survival instincts should tell you that you shouldn't do what you're doing. DUH!
Could be better but it held your interests to a point. A lot left undone.

I've paid for worse films, this one was free and one can see some merit in the plots and directing.
This is comparable to an anthology comic book with three visions of the future.
I'm not disappointed with the film; just wish the three stories could have been tied together at the end in order to resolve the loose plot points.

I gave this a 7 based on the first piece alone. It was by far the best segment and left me wondering why it was even included in this. It ought to be on Netflix or Amazon Prime or any other streaming service as a series. The story, directing, acting , locations, camera work and score were all superb. Whomever cast the two leads in this is very good at their job. The 3 shorts are really not connected to each other storywise and I found that confusing. As for the other two shorts, I didn't really find a lot to keep me interested, to be honest.
