While all of her friends are in college, Claire is living with her parents, dreading any possible interaction with them. Her boyfriend Allen has just been kicked out of the house and spends his time wandering the streets, finding ways to curb his boredom. Perry is starting college, still quiet about his homosexuality. When he becomes enamored by his roommate, he has to decide whether it is best to keep his mouth shut or take a shot. Ashley is ignoring her infant child and focusing on her acting aspirations. Ashley remains naive and confident despite the bad hands in which she is dealt. All of these stories interweave, beginning in a state of realism, but slowly drifting into fantasy. In the fashion of hearsay, to the people telling the stories, the lives and feelings of its subjects are overlooked.
