Shot on video woodland trash

The usual shot on video woodland trash, INTO THE WOODS is at the very least mercifully short so it doesn't outstay its welcome too much. The film was directed by a guy who worked as production assistant on INCEPTION, which goes to show that you have to start somewhere. The story is the usual clichéd/derivative 'teens camping in the woods' sort of thing, lacking interest and intent; originality is nil. This derivative slasher includes some mild gore, but is so poorly made as to be totally uninteresting.

Into the Toilet...

Take five unlikeable characters, put them together in the woods to party hearty, and watch them die one by one. Lather, rinse, repeat. The acting is terrible; a cigar store Indian is more compelling and believable than anyone in this completely forgettable cast. The first 15 minutes of the film consists of this band of idiots driving to the proposed campsite. The character, Sean, is arguably the most obnoxious, thinks-he's-hilarious-but-isn't-even-close a**hole in the history of cinema.

Of course, we have the obligatory live scene between the surly tough guy and his bimbo girlfriend. This pretty much consists of her kissing his neck for four or five minutes. 30 minutes into the movie, and you're praying for the lot of these twits to be killed.

Based on this utter piece of dreck, David Zimmerman III's career hit it's peak when he was carrying around some guy's lunch during the filming of "Inception". If I could have given this turd of a movie a zero star rating, I would have. The most tragic killing associated with the movie will be the valuable time that you'll kill by watching it. "Into the Woods" really is that bad.
