In "Dr. Evil and Mr. Nice", when Azrael cornered the Smurflings near a large rock, his eyes are white before he was picked up by Gargamel which changed to the normal yellow.
In "The Root of Evil," evil Hefty is shown using a two-man crosscut saw to cut the Root of Evil, which evil Brainy quickly joined by holding the right handle. Evil Miner quickly joined Hefty and other Smurfs joined them off-screen to eventually six Smurfs are shown using the saw to cut the Root. However, when they cut the Root of Evil and returned to normal, Brainy and Miner are not among the six Smurfs that cut it.
In "The Root of Evil," the evil Smurfs were able to cut off the Root of Evil, making it magically vanish and leave a crack in the ground where it used to grow. When the Smurfs returned to normal, the crack in the ground mysteriously disappeared.
In "The Root of Evil," Chlorhydris is shown outside her castle planting the seeds of a plant (The Root of Evil) that will cause hate among any creature it touches. Nearby her is a basket of tomatoes. This basket appears in some subsequent scenes, including where Chlorhydris accidentally steps and slips on it while chasing after the Smurfs. However, tomatoes were unknown in Europe until they were imported from the Americas in the 16th century. The background of the Smurf cartoon series is the late Middle Ages (circa 14th-15th century), early for the appearance of tomatoes in Europe.
In "The Root of Evil," the evil Smurfs used tomatoes they found to throw tomatoes at Chlorhydris when she came out of her castle. However, each Smurf was able to throw a tomato even though a single tomato is as large as an individual Smurf.
