Last episode of the series.
"Hearts 'N 'Smurfs" makes it the second and final time that a Smurf commented that a man that looks like Gargamel resembles the evil wizard. The first time was in "Mummy Dearest".
"Hearts 'N 'Smurfs" is the only time in the cartoon series that Cupid has a different character design and voice than how he was depicted in previous appearances (e.g. "Head Over Hogatha"). In previous appearances, Cupid is depicted as nearly bald with blond hair, shot his love arrows using a golden bow, and carries a silver quiver. In "Hearts 'N 'Smurfs," Cupid is depicted with red full hair, shot his love arrows using a red bow, and carries a golden quiver.
"The Golden Rhino" and its follow-up "Brainy's Beastly Boo-Boo" both take place in the East African savanna.
While the ethnic identity of the villains in "The Golden Rhino" was never revealed, they are actually Phoenicians.
