The power that Sinatra had, that crossed all lines of the entertainment and business worlds, was truly breathtaking.
Matthew Goode continues to crush it as Bob Evans. Giovanni Ribisi continues do do a caricature of a Mafioso. We meet Al Pacino (Anthony Ippolito) who is doing more of an impression of Pacino rather than embodying him. He's also prettier than Al, with softer features, which is disconcerting. Whereas, Dan Fogler completely embodies Coppola. Al Ruddy's (Miles Teller) girlfriend, Francoise, is a tough and useful ally, as is Ruddy's girl Friday, Bettye (Juno Temple).
The writers also pick up on the strange anomaly, in the entertainment business, of having 'suits,' based in NYC, telling the studio bosses, in LA, what they could and couldn't do. Clearly, not a good business model, but it continues to this day.
