I was first aware of the Beatles when Please Please Me got into the charts when I was 12 or 13. They sank in when the album came out. I put the LP on the record player, sat down and listened to it in one go. They wrote their own songs with three guitars, a drummer and vocal harmonies. It’s hard to realise what a monumental change in music that was.

Mumbai, Feb 23 (Ians) Government It spending in India is set to total $7.3 billion in 2021, a growth of 9.4 per cent from 2020, according to a forecast by Gartner on Tuesday.
The first ever digital census this year will be pivotal in increasing government It spending in India.
"The government in India will shift from being a cautious spender to opening the fiscal floodgates in 2021," Apeksha Kaushik, Principal Research Analyst at Gartner, said in a statement.
"Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Indian government's digital transformation projects were sidelined in 2020. The weakening economy forced the Indian government into reducing their It spend across all segments last year."
However, in 2021, the Indian government's Atmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India and Digital India initiatives will take centre stage.
The software segment, which includes application, infrastructure, and vertical-specific software, will experience the strongest growth in 2021, Gartner said.

A week ago, the race for the Best Animated Feature Oscar seemed as if it could have the smallest field of entries in years. Only 13 films were in the online screening room devoted to the category, although some significant contenders were clearly going to be added, Pixar’s “Soul,” Cartoon Saloon’s “Wolfwalkers” and Gkids’ “Earwig and the Witch” among them.
But on Friday, Jan. 15, voters in the category awoke to find that the size of the race had essentially doubled. Instead of 13 films in the screening room, there were 27, with the newcomers including not just “Soul” and “Wolfwalkers” and “Earwig and the Witch,” but also films from Denmark (“Dreambuilders”), Poland (“Kill It and Leave This Town”), Latvia (“My Favorite War”), South Korea (“Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs”) and India (“Bombay Rose”), as well as a Croatian movie with the intriguing and confounding title “Accidental Luxuriance of the Translucent Water Rebus.

This year came packed to the brim with surprises, both good and bad. From a pandemic to randomly appearing monoliths to two albums from Taylor Swift, 2020 has kept people on their toes.
And it’s finally coming to an end. Rather than celebrate the closing of this year at grand, in-person parties or festivals, streamers and linear television networks are offering safe at-home alternatives on Dec. 31. Why go out when you can ring in the new year from your living room, anyways?
“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2021” has enlisted Jennifer Lopez to perform as the headliner this year. The show will also feature more performances and celebrate the music that came out of 2020.
