Emotional
marie-ell199318 March 2021
When a programme can bring out a range of different emotions, the actors, directors and writers have done their jobs. This was by far, one of the best episodes in a while. It had everything you would expect in a situation like this. I can only imagine in reality, it would be far worse, but this episode gave a good account of the situation. More episodes like this, would be great.

Story resolution unrealistic...

Warning: Spoilers
Seal Team is a wonderful show. I really love it. It prides itself on showing how SEALs operate realistically... Fine.

Sometimes, however, that realism doesn't extend to the enemy context.

In S4E6, we have a Ray rescue mission that ends up in Syria, specifically West Syria, on the coast, at either Tartus or Latakia. This is important, this location information, in the context of what Blackburn tells them of the likely opposition.

It is a 'hot conflict zone' with rebel groups retreating towards the port. Ray encounters a HVT, so presumably well protected. Yet, the Team manage to get to him through seemingly minimal resistance, and to exfil again against seemingly minimal resistance. They have faced worse than this in Afghan.

but the worst 'unrealism;' comes right at the end of the rescue. Just when they are trying to get Ray safely 'exfilled' a US QRF shows up... Where the heck did it come from? there are no US bases in Western Syria, never have been. All US SF are in eastern Syria/Iraq. there is no possibility, in a realistic context, of either a QRF helping the Team, or of a large cargo plane landing in Syria to airlift them out. The only airbases in Western Syria are Russian or Syrian. Look it up if you don't believe me. So, I have to give this episode 8 rather than 10.

I presume the programme makers are banking on the normal audience for Seal team either not knowing or not caring about such 'context detail'.

Best Episode So Far

They got back to the basics. This episode reminds us why this show is great. The acting was solid and the action was first rate. Not too emotional, which was good. The biggest plus...was no Mandy. 😏

Why so sentimental?
systersister24 October 2021
Always overbearing sentimentality. For the family for the team and for everything that was lost in the fire. And then Sonny. I understand that you have to have an unsympathetic character in a movie. But it seems that the producers think he is interesting and a great guy when ge really is a clown. Sad.
