Suicide or Murder?
E! Mysteries & Scandals: Inger Stevens (1999)
Rod Steiger, William Patterson (biographer), Chris Bone (personal assistant), Peter Falk, Harry Flynn (publicist), Kirk Crivello (author) discuss the career and mysterious death of Inger Stevens, the actress who appears to have had everything going in her favor.
As with most episodes in the series, we get a brief bio of Stevens' early days and her rise in Hollywood but the main focus is on her mysterious death, which was ruled a suicide but many people feel that she was murdered. After a night with her boyfriend Burt Reynolds, people wonder if it was a broken heart that led to suicide or something much darker. The main focus of this episode is the suicide and the conspiracy theory that someone killed her. Many believe that the actress had no reason to kill herself even though she had tried to do so earlier in her life. The interviews here are extremely good and especially those with Steiger and Falk.
