Only Kevin Pearson...
normabette13 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
...Would literally save a stranger's life en route to the birth of his children and still not measure up to his own standards of what a father should be.

It's not incidental that the man whose life Kevin saved is the father of teenagers. The age Kevin was when Jack sacrificed his own "being there". Kevin has given a father back to some kids. He will realise that was a greater gift than being at the birth of his own kids.

Madison is incredibly strong. She will realise that she is in for a life of being let down by a super hero. She will have to decide if her needs are being met by that.

An annoyance: Shouldn't he have his passport in a bag? Would he really have been relying on his state Id to board an international flight? What about digital ids? These are genuinely curious questions, and maybe the next episode will have the customs agent offer one of these solutions.

Such an intense episode. Starts off with such a scary note which keeps us holding our breath till half way through the episode. All of the storylines r equally engaging. Jack Pearson is hands down the best thing which ever happened to this show and every episode makes me love him more. Can't wait for the next episode!!

Number One / There
abdallamesl10 February 2021
We all still remember the pain Kevin felt in the Number One episode. He was lost, couldn't make it without a vicodin pill, lost his necklace... It was a turning point in Kevin's character to get us into this episode, were we finally see that he has a part of jack in him, that he should be THERE whatever it takes. Love this show, the way it shows who we really are, the little things in life that actually matter, a real show for real people...Can't wait for next week!

This is Us never has failed to make impress us with its unique, creative and perfect storytelling. And yet somehow it manages to stay the same and let us have a mixed blend of emotions. This episode was a great Kevin Pearson centric Episode. Exactly what we needed. Loved to see more of Jack and little Kev sharing screen time together. And ofc fantastic acting by literally everyone.

Love Kevin

Warning: Spoilers
Love Kevin in this episode, but I do agree with one reviewer, it was so illogical. Kevin has finally got himself to a good place, fulfilling his life long dream of a feature film, working with De Niro etc, the whole point of the flashbacks to the football camp he went on reflecting this. I cannot say that I can relate to the joys and stress of fatherhood, but did he really have to sacrifice his literal career for a birth that was early.

Now, I'm not saying he shouldn't have gone: it was possible and it is something a father has to be there for. What I am saying is he COMPLETELY burnt his bridges. It just needed to take one conversation with his agent or the director to go 'I'm sorry, I have to be here, figure something out'. He could have been back tomorrow, next week, whatever. Point is, he didn't have to burn those bridges, especially when it isn't just him it is affecting.

Nest episode this season that focuses on Kevin.

Warning: Spoilers
This was a great episode focusing on Kevin who is my favorite of the adult kids. I don't care about adult Kate and her adoption or Randall with his issues. I love Kevin. My only complaint is the ridiculousness with the masks. It's annoying; especially in a hospital. Patients don't wear masks because it inhibits their breathing.

A Great Episode--A Host of Issues
Hitchcoc13 May 2024
There was so much in this episode, I don't know where to start. First of all, a trick was played on us. In the last episode, it closed with Kevin driving and a final shot of a car in the ditch on fire. You know what we thought. So we now see Kevin, panic stricken, after getting a call that Madison is in labor. He is a knee jerk guy and he leaves the set of his movie, leaving people high and dry, and starts driving carelessly, focusing on the phone instead of his driving. And, we know now, that there is a man in the car and Kevin pulls him out and gets him in his car. He is trying to get to the Seattle airport to catch a flight to LA. Of course, his wallet dropped out of his jacket when he used it to help the guy. His appearance at the airport has a sad conclusion. Even the Manny can't get the airport officials to let him on a plane. In other events we have a young Jack being mistreated by his drunken father. He is with Kevin, going to a quarterback camp, and doesn't realize how he is putting tremendous pressure on Kevin. It was interesting to see George Eads from CSI as his somewhat abusive football coach. Randall plays a small part in this one, but we can see the ice breaking between the brothers. Also, Madison is welcomed into the family as she awaits her delivery. Oh, I wondered where all the "one" ratings were this time.

Well filmed but annoying
wissia19 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The episode itself is very well acted etc. Nothing to say there. Yet the morals behind it are very annoying to say the least, and the stellar reviews given because of Kevin's immolation on the altar of fatherhood are equally perplexing. Giving up all he's been working very hard for, not to mention abandoning an entire team of people who were counting on him, is hardly commendable. His partner is, after all, well looked after. One's actions and choices have consequences and we don't live in a bubble - ditching a film crew would have giant repercussions on many people and celebrating that kind of reckless behaviour is just superficial and inconsiderate.

Madison is Kate's best friend but Kate is not Madison's friend!
hay1820082 August 2022
Why Madison is in labor all alone while her best friend Kate is not involved? Are they total strangers all of sudden? The storylines in this season so rushed and flawed!
