There’s a surplus of Jimmys in late night these days, but David Letterman was the first—way back in 1995.
Letterman’s official YouTube channel has just resurfaced highlights from an entire episode the original Late Show host did under a different name. Presciently, he chose “Jimmy.”
“For a long time, Paul and myself and the production staff have wondered, ‘How would this show be different if instead of my name being Dave Letterman, my name was Jimmy Letterman?’” Letterman explained to viewers in a cold open for the episode. “So that’s what we’re going to do tonight.”
With that, the show launched into an altered “Late Show with Jimmy Letterman” title sequence, complete with a Jimmified version of Letterman’s famous marquee.

As we’ve come to learn over the last few months, Ryan Gosling is nothing if not game. He demonstrated that yet again Wednesday night, when the three-time Oscar nominee paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live!
After Kimmel introduced Gosling as “a man from Canada who played Ken and got nominated for an Oscar for it” and the star of “the new rom-action comedy The Fall Guy,” the camera cut to Gosling emerging from his dressing room. As the actor made his way to the stage, he came under attack by a seemingly endless line of baddies who tried to take him out with everything from a baseball bat to their bare hands.
For his part, Gosling didn’t miss a beat. After taking out one attacker with his coffee cup and smashing another against a wall, the Barbie star even made some time to stop by fellow guest...

Ryan Gosling’s teenage actor hopes for a friendship with late screen legend Burt Reynolds were dashed when he learned that the 1970s movie icon was more interested in his mother.
While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday, the 43-year-old Barbie Oscar nominee and star of the new movie The Fall Guy recalled his time spent with the late star of Smokey and the Bandit, Deliverance and many more 1970s classics; the two were working together on the 1996 family comedy, Frankenstein and Me.
Reynolds had something of a reputation for being surly and unfriendly in his heyday, so while discussing the shoot, Kimmel wanted to know if the child actor and veteran star struck up any sort of friendship or rapport. Gosling told him that Reynolds was perfectly nice to him on set, but revealed that this was potentially a plan to win the favor of his mother, Donna Gosling.

Mike Tyson has appeared in over a few TV shows and movies during his time away from boxing. One of the projects he lent his image to was the television series Entourage. But Tyson was thrown for a loop when Piven started ad-libbing as his character Ari Gold.
Mike Tyson once shared what it was like to work on ‘Entourage’ Jeremy Piven | D Dipasupil/FilmMagic
Tyson was one of the many celebrities who made an appearance on the hit HBO show Entourage. There, he shared a scene with Jeremy Piven’s slick-talking agent Ari Gold. When he was offered an opportunity to star in the show, Tyson was more than thrilled. He was slowly building his acting resume over the years, and wanted to prove his worth as a potential actor.
“You better believe I had all my lines down pat,” he once posted on The Player’s Tribune.

Hunter Schafer rose to fame for her role as Jules Vaughn, a trans girl on Euphoria. It was her breakout role and an important one too, not just for Schafer but for many within the LGBTQ+ community since representation comes with the price of stereotypes usually.
Since then, the actress has slowly carved a niche for herself, and she is now one of the most vocal artists in the industry. However, Schafer has reached a point where she is selective about the roles she picks. As a consequence, she has turned down several trans roles that were offered to her.

"That's 8. Mark it down. Let's continue..." Have you ever looked at a bag of snacks and wondered, how do they come up with the "serving size" count on the nutrition label? There is technically a real answer to this question, but I like the concept in this short much more. Jimmy Boden is a clever short made by a young filmmaker named Chris Pickering. After premiering at the 2023 Slamdance Film Festival and playing at other fests last year, it's available to watch online. An imprisoned government asset, whose sole purpose is determining the serving sizes of snacks, has finally reached his breaking point. "I came up with the idea for Jimmy Boden as I was eating a bag of chips. I looked at the back and noticed the serving size: seven chips. Who ever just eats seven chips?" Indeed. Pickering's friend Andrew Simmons stars as Jimmy. They really got this...

Netflix gained a new competitor last month (sort of) when HBO Max and Discovery+ combined forces to create the confusingly-named Max. With its list of new releases for June 2023, however, Netflix doesn’t have too much to worry about.
This month is filled with some major Netflix original titles, not the least of which is The Witcher season 3 volume 1 on June 29. Though star Henry Cavill is set to leave the Polish folklore/video game adaptation in season 4, he remains very much entrenched as the titular Witcher in this next go-around. Other big TV hits include Manifest season 4 part 2 (June 2), Big Mouth spinoff Human Resources season 2 (June 9), and animated King Kong series Skull Island (June 22). That’s not even to mention the return of Black Mirror season 6. That still has yet to receive a release date but we have no doubt it will be properly epic once it arrives.

Everyone deals with emotional issues in their own way, and there's no one specific "correct" way to process life's traumatic events. For some, experiencing grief comes with severe depressive episodes, but for others, the ol' defense mechanism of laughing it off takes center stage. The fact that there's no universal guidebook to working through trauma makes the field of psychiatry a complicated one to put on screen, but Bill Lawrence's Apple TV+ series, "Shrinking," isn't afraid to try.
The series centers on a grieving therapist named Jimmy (Jason Segel) who has been neglecting his patients, his family, and himself in the wake of his wife's passing. After finally snapping mid-session and telling a client exactly what he thinks about their situation, rather than creating a space for them to come to the realization on their own terms, he begins incorporating more questionable (and unethical) approaches to better his clients' mental health.

What would it have sounded like if Vecna was in Titanic, asking Leonardo DiCaprio to draw him like one of Jack’s French girls? Well, odds are, you’ve never actually wondered that. But Jamie Campbell Bower has an answer for you anyway.
Appearing on “The Tonight Show” on Monday night, Bower was asked by host Jimmy Fallon how the now familiar – and terrifying – voice of Vecna came to be. According to the actor, “it took a few months to get right,” because originally, it was “more like Freddy Krueger.” But that wasn’t quite landing, so eventually he worked out something much deeper.
Naturally, Fallon wanted a demonstration of the villainous voice, and Bower was all to happy to oblige. And this being “The Tonight Show,” he didn’t simply read some of Vecna’s lines on air. Instead, he read famous movie lines, catchphrases and even some Lizzo lyrics.

Jimmy Kimmel’s future in late-night at ABC is still in flux but ABC chief Craig Erwich reiterated his hopes to keep the comedian on the air for as long as possible.
Erwich, who is President, Hulu Originals & ABC Entertainment, said that Kimmel, who hosts Jimmy Kimmel Live! was the “king of late-night” as the longest running late-night show host on the air.
“We will have Jimmy for as many seasons as he wants to be on the air,” he said at his TCA executive session.
Erwich pointed to Kimmel’s on air tribute last night of his friend Bob Saget, calling it “heartwarming” and “funny”.
He added that the network loves to work with Kimmel as a producer – he runs his own production company Kimmelot – and is responsible for Live In Front of a Studio Audience.

America’s coronavirus lockdown continues, which means the late night political comics and commentators are doing their work from home, using social media to stay current while the broadcast networks show repeats of their classic shows.
Jimmy Kimmel continued his “minilogue” programming from his living quarters. In tonight’s segment, he examined spring breakers in Florida trying to keep the party going, and the Netflix announcement about a 30-day reduction in streaming quality across Europe. He also had a Zoom interview with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, showing off his bread-baking skills. As part of his online segment, Kimmel has been making a donation to a worthwhile cause every day and encouraging audience participation during the quarantine. Today, it’s Feeding America.
Also keeping the fires burning was The Daily Social Distancing Show from Trevor Noah’s couch in New York City. Naturally, coronavirus was on his mind, and he brought some good news from around the world.

Mark Patton was in his mid-twenties when he was cast as Jesse Walsh in “A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge,” which was as financially successful as the first movie in that series. But the blond and beautiful and sensitive Patton, who was a closeted gay actor, took a career hit for being seen as a male scream queen. The new documentary “Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street” details how Patton disappeared and then re-emerged to take control of his image.
Directors Roman Chimienti and Tyler Jensen have packed the film with as much social context as possible, and they view as many sides of this story as they can in a fast-paced, engaging style. There are interviews with academics and drag queens and fans of the horror genre, and this gives the movie a wide-ranging perspective that helps us better understand the moving personal story at its core.

You can have too much of a good thing – if the saga of Walter White taught us nothing else, it surely taught us that. So when creator Vince Gilligan teamed up with writer Peter Gould to create a prequel to Breaking Bad – starring comedian Bob Odenkirk's sleazeball ambulance-chaser Saul Goodman – it was hard not to think they were aping their own creation. Wasn't returning to this world so soon, to tell the origin story of a drastically different kind of person, hubris on a Heisenbergian scale?

Last Week’S Review: Rough Times for Jimmy Are Bad News For Everyone Else
Case Summary
It’s what we’ve been dreading: The return of Slippin’ Jimmy. We get a flashback to Cicero, Illinois, as Jimmy and his old pal, the now sadly deceased Marco, break into the old McGill family general store in search of the perfect coin for their latest con. It’s just enough of a reminder of Jimmy’s old self to sell what happens in the present, as Jimmy deals with some weaselly commercial clients first by trying to reason with them, then borrowing a move from his old playbook, staging an accident in the guitar shop.
Of course, Jimmy’s not a young man anymore, and the fall injures him pretty badly, to the point where it becomes worth his time and energy to help a fellow community service colleague duck out of the job,...

We are, at the time of writing, little over a month away from welcoming Bob Odenkirk’s fast-talking criminal lawyer, Jimmy McGill, back onto our screens in the form of Better Call Saul season 3.
If you’ve been keeping pace with the show’s production cycle – and if you’re a fan of Vince Gilligan’s brooding material, chances are you haven’t missed a beat – you’ll know all too well that the third season of AMC’s prequel series heralds the arrival of a menacing, downright iconic drug kingpin. And no, we’re not referring to Bryan Cranston’s scenery-chewing Walter White. Ol’ Heisenberg has been name-dropped in the past – along with literal partner in crime, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) – but it would appear the Gilligan and writing partner Peter Gould are keeping their more prominent chess pieces in the wings for the time being.

Let's face it — "Breaking Bad" was never going to be easy to follow. After having an international phenomenon on their hands, "Better Call Saul" creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould knew that they had a bit of a challenge when it came to expanding the world of such a universally beloved show with a spin-off prequel. However, as "Saul" embarks further into its second season, the show has proved itself as absolutely worth the risk. The series centers around Jimmy McGill, six years before he enters the world of "Breaking Bad," and features exactly what led the formerly goodhearted lawyer to the shady person he becomes, along with the cast of characters that assisted in that transformation. Although Jonathan Banks (Mike) wasn't present, Bob Odenkirk (Saul/Jimmy/Gene), Rhea Seehorn (Kim), Michael McKean (Chuck), Patrick Fabian (Howard) and Michael Mando (Nacho) were all on hand and more than eager to...

A review of tonight's Better Call Saul coming up just as soon as I do the Carol Burnett thing with my ear... "You don't save me. I save me." -Kim What an oddly structured show Better Call Saul can be at times. Throughout the series, Jimmy and Mike rarely interact — or do it briefly, as happens here when Jimmy expresses concern about Mike's battered face — and are moving through stories with completely different tones, usually featuring different characters (though both of them have run afoul of Tuco and Nacho at some point), and at times feeling like different genres. Their lives and stories are destined to become far more entwined, but at the moment, Jimmy's in a legal dramedy and Mike's not only in a hard-boiled crime show, but one that for now has much more of a direction connection to Breaking Bad. Saul is far from the...

S'all good, man.
Monday's finale of Better Call Saul pushed Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) ever closer to the man we met in Breaking Bad after his brother's betrayal made him question why he ever even bothered playing at morality in the first place.
As he told Mike (Jonathan Banks), Jimmy won't be making that mistake again. Season 1 of the Breaking Bad spin-off saw Jimmy seeking approval from anyone and everyone – all of whom were never truly going to give it to him despite his best efforts.
Apart from a few hiccups, it was a truly absorbing season of television that ended far too soon.

A review of the "Better Call Saul" season finale coming up just as soon as I know what a Chicago sunroof is... "I know what stopped me. And you know what? It's never stopping me again." -Jimmy There's a moment early in "Marco" where Jimmy and Kim walk past the dented trash can in the Hhm parking garage — a reminder of so many of Jimmy's early frustrations with his brother's law firm — and he assures her that he's at peace with what he learned about Chuck. It seems, just then, that the "Better Call Saul" creative team — most of them (like co-creator Peter Gould, who wrote and directed the finale) veterans of "Breaking Bad," a show largely defined by the patient way it moved through its arcs — will be playing a particularly long game in getting us from Jimmy McGill to Saul Goodman. Chuck's betrayal was a brutal blow,...

As the season finale of Better Call Saul arrives, we have a ton of questions. With episode 11, "Pimento" throwing our perceptions of Chuck (Michael McKean) and Hamlin (Patrick Fabian) upside down, there is a lot that could happen in the finale, "Marco." Jimmy has always struggled with the criminal in him and his new desire to do what's right. Everyone around him has told him that he's lying to himself, and needs to accept that he'll always be Slippin' Jimmy. The one foundation and support in his life has been his older brother Chuck, who always pushed him to straighten up. It's because of Chuck that Jimmy got his law degree.

Another cast member has been added to AMC's small screen take on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's insanely brilliant comic series, Preacher. Taking on the role of "Arseface" (aka Eugene Root) will be young Ian Colletti, who played the title role in the 2013 film Jimmy, and was a regular on Fox's Rake last year. This is a unique character to say the least, and his depiction on screen will almost certainly be met with some controversy. He's nicknamed Arseface because after a failed suicide attempt... well, his face resembles an arse! Here's how Deadline describe his Tv incarnation: "Even with his horribly disfigured face and severe speech impediment, Eugene's still the nicest kid you'll ever meet who really looks up to Jesse. Stomach-churningly difficult to look at, Eugene's the town’s reviled Frankenstein’s monster but that won't change his earnest, sweet and pure outlook on life.

Don Draper, Barney Stinson and now, Howard Hamlin.
Better Call Saul has proven to be a juggernaut in the ratings, and now it's providing men everywhere with their newest fashion icon. On the AMC drama, Patrick Fabian plays Howard Hamlin, the rich, well-dressed lawyer with a smile so perfect you can practically hear the "ping" when you look at his photograph. Basically, Howard is everything that Bob Odenkirk's character, Jimmy McGill, aspires to be.
In episode four of the Breaking Bad prequel, fans were delighted to watch Jimmy use his large sum of hush-money to transform his wardroom from desperate and dingy into a dead-on doppelganger of Hamlin, complete with real mother-of-pearl buttons — none of that "fake plastic crap."

[Warning: Spoilers ahead for Monday's episode of Better Call Saul, "Hero."] This list of pepole Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) has ticked off is growing fast. In Breaking Bad, Walter (Bryan Cranston) constantly had to keep tabs of multiple players, and sometimes it was the ones he didn't initially worry about that grew into major threats. In Saul, Nacho (Michael Mando) seems to be a strong
