- The episode begins sixteen years before the events of the show, where a young Henry Dunn and Abby Mills are playing with their toys while Abby's father, Sheriff Charlie Mills, watches over them while reading the paper. There's a knock at the door and it's Henry's parents, along with a young J.D. Dunn. Abby's mom then walks in to say "Hi." Henry's mom and Abby's mom both look down at Henry and then they look back up to each other, with unhappy faces. Abby and Henry then decide to go outside to play with a soccer ball. It's revealed that Henry and his parents are going to be gone for a year and Abby doesn't want him to go. Abby whispers something into his ear and Henry agrees with her.
We're then taken back to present day where Henry has just killed Trish. Henry is face to face with his biological father, John Wakefield. Henry tells him that she was harder to kill than the others, because he felt for her. Wakefield tells him that she served her purpose and nothing else matters. Henry asks him if Danny put up that much of a fight and Wakefield says he at least didn't embarrass himself and only Trish's sister, Shea Allen and her daughter, Madison, escaped. They then hear Jimmy and Abby's voices near calling for them. Henry tells Wakefield that they only have a couple of hours to finish before the state police come.
The duo then walk away into the woods just as Jimmy and Abby arrive to find Trish's dead body, while Henry and Wakefield watch from the hill above them. Wakefield then asks Henry if he knows what he has to do next, to which Henry replies, "I have to kill Abby."
Meanwhile, Shea and Madison run into the boat house. They tell Sully that somebody let Wakefield escape from jail. Hearing about Danny's death, Sully gets pissed off and calls back the mainland, telling them that Wakefield escaped from prison and they need them over there right away. The mainland tells them that they're still trying to get through the bad weather and they'll probably be over there soon. Sully then looks up at the small motorboat in the rafters and proclaims: "We're getting off this Island!"
As they get the boat down to the lake, Sully tells Shea that they have to get off the island, and tells Shea that her priority is to make sure Madison gets safely off the island. Shea begs for him to come with them because if he doesn't they aren't going either, but Sully explains to them that he can't leave them all behind with John Wakefield still alive. Shea and Madison then escape on the motorboat while Sully goes back to the boat house. At the boat house, he is greeted by Henry and tells him that Danny is dead and Madison and Shea escaped on the boat.
Henry asks him why he didn't go with them and Sully says he didn't want to leave his best friend alone. Sully calls back the mainland to tell them that Madison and Shea are heading their way while Henry opens the shotgun and checks the shells. The Coast Guard tells them that the chopper will be there in forty-five minutes and asks them to meet at the marina. Sully and Henry then head out the marina.
While on the way to the marina, Henry starts telling Sully that whoever let Wakefield out of the jail cell has to be one of them, but Sully proclaims that it has to be Jimmy. Henry then starts telling Sully that if he was Wakefield's kid, he would be helping him seek out his revenge and killing people for him. Sully then questions Henry why is he trying to scare him so bad. Henry pulls out a folding knife and tells Sully that he killed Reverend Fain to set up the trap for Mr. Wellington, he killed Richard Allen, and he killed Katherine Wellington. He then tells him that the bag of cash they found on Hunter's boat was his Uncle Marty's.
He explains that Uncle Marty was going to give the money to Malcolm to help him with his brewery company. Henry wanted to see what would happen if he found the money. Sully tries to shoot Henry but is gun is empty. Henry then tells Sully that John Wakefield is right behind him. While Sully is distracted by Wakefield, Henry stabs him in the back and proclaims: "You never should have dogged Trish!". Sully falls on the ground, dead.
Jimmy and Abby head down to the boat house to find Sully but he and the boat are gone. The Coast Guard calls them back and tells them that they've just picked up Shea and Madison and will be there in a couple of minutes at the marina, where they say is where Henry and Sully are. Abby and Jimmy then head out to find them and run into Henry. Abby asks where Sully is and Henry replies he hasn't seen him. Henry asks them where Trish is and Abby tells them that she's dead. They take him to where she is but her body is gone. Henry then tells them that she's possibly still alive and tricks them into following him into the chapel.
They arrive at the chapel and find Trish's body laying on the altar. Wakefield then appears behind Jimmy and attempts to kill him, but Jimmy and he start fighting. Abby tells Henry to shoot Wakefield but Henry replies he can't get a good shot. Hearing the helicopter, Jimmy yells at Abby to go signal for help. As she runs outside, Wakefield screams at Henry that she's getting away, and Jimmy realizes that the two have been working together. He starts up his flare and uses it to burn Wakefield in the chest before throwing it at the unity candles and running away. Badly injured and with the church on fire. Wakefield tells Henry to finish it, and Henry tries to shoot Jimmy as he runs.
Henry catches up to Abby and tells her that Jimmy's dead. Henry then asks her where they're suppose to go, and Abby tells him the marina. Suddenly, Abby realizes something: the Coast Guard told Abby that Henry and Sully were heading down to the marina, but when she and Jimmy found Henry, he told them he doesn't know where Sully is. Henry then pulls out his knife and tells Abby that it's over now while Wakefield stands behind her. Henry runs towards Abby, but pushes her aside and stabs Wakefield in the heart. Abby then realizes that Henry is the second killer and attempts to run but Henry knocks her out.
Madison and Shea are back at the Seattle Police Station, where Agent Perez takes Madison to another room while Shea and another agent talk. The agent tells her that the people they left behind are dead and some of their bodies were found in the burned down chapel due to the traces of blood and bone. Shea tells them that John Wakefield committed the murders and the Agent tells her that they found his body too, and that he's definitely dead. The Agent tells her that other than any of the other locals, Shea and Madison are the only survivors.
Back on the island, the FBI are packing up to leave. Abby wakes up at her house with nothing but her bra and panties on in her old bedroom, with a pair of clothes out for her. She puts them on and goes downstairs where she's greeted by Henry, who asks her if she wants something to eat. She declines and tries to escape but all the doors are locked. Henry tells her that he chose her over Wakefield, but Abby runs upstairs and hides inside her bedroom. Henry talks to her from outside the door and tells her that he can wait until she comes out because they have all the time in the world, just like Abby wanted. Henry asks her if she remembered what she whispered to him sixteen years ago before he left. There is a flashback to sixteen years ago where we hear what Abby said to him, "I wish you could live with me forever. Just the two of us." Henry then goes back downstairs to wait for her. Henry hears glass break and goes to check it out and is threatened by Abby with a glass shard.
Henry then explains everything to her: During the massacre that happened seven years ago, Henry accidentally bumped into John Wakefield and when he looked into his face, he saw a connection between them. A year after the massacre, Wakefield found Henry working at a restaurant in Seattle and told him that he was his son. Abby refuses to believe that Henry is a killer, and he tells her that he always had certain impulses he didn't understand until he met Wakefield. Henry also tells her that her dad was right, and that Wakefield was present at the Seattle murder scenes, but that it was Henry who was doing the killing.
Henry figured that marrying Trish was the only way to bring Abby back to the Island, and that he had to kill all the other people because they were in their way.Henry explains that he killed Wakefield because Wakefield wanted to kill Abby but Henry wanted to be with her. He tells her that it doesn't matter that they are half-brother and half-sister, because no one knows, and they can be together.
Abby throws the shard at Henry and quickly grabs a telescope to break the glass door and runs outside with Henry chasing her. She runs down to the garage to find another weapon where she finds Jimmy, who is still alive, gagged and tied up to one of the pillars. Before she has time to do anything, Henry walks in, grabs Abby by the throat, throws her outside and shuts the door, leaving a very pissed off Jimmy behind.
Henry drags Abby back into the house claiming that she wasn't meant to find Jimmy. Abby begs Henry to let Jimmy go, and accuses Henry of setting Jimmy up to look like Wakefield's accomplice. Henry tells Abby that he faked all their deaths, so no one would come looking for them and they could be alone. He left Jimmy alive because he needed him to sign a full confession, claiming to be Wakefield's accomplice, since Shea and Madison, who have left the island, know that someone helped him escape. Abby tries to run away again, but this time Henry manages to grab her by the hair and lock her in her bedroom, promising her that everything will be alright. Abby tries to use a nail from the wall to pick the lock but fails.
Later, Henry returns to find Abby laying in her bed. He tells her that Jimmy has agreed to sign the confession, but only if he gets to say goodbye to Abby. He takes her down to the garage, and she apologizes to Jimmy for leaving, and tells him she thought about calling him everyday. She then pulls his gag down and kisses him passionately. This makes Henry angry, and he pulls her away violently. She proudly claims that she loves Jimmy, and the enraged Henry slaps her to the ground. He immediately regrets this and tries to help her up, but she stabs him in the foot with a pick and runs off. Henry grabs a boarding knife and sets of after her. We see that Abby passed Jimmy the metal nail through the kiss, and he proceeds to unlock his handcuffs.
Henry chases Abby to the edge of a low cliff. She tells Henry that she knows he told Jimmy he would kill her if he didn't sign the confession, Henry tells her that he could never hurt her. She asks him why he's got the boarding knife if he's not going to hurt her, and he throws it away. He tells Abby that her and the island are his home, and that he would die without her. She tells him that he has destroyed everything she ever loved, to which he replies that she has him, but she shouts back that she doesn't want him. Jimmy then runs up behind Henry, and they both fall off the edge.
Abby runs down to find that Jimmy is ok, just as Henry slowly approaches behind her. Without thinking, Abby grabs the nearby boarding knife and accidentally stabs Henry with it. With his last breath, he sighs, tells Abby he loves her, then dies.
Abby and Jimmy are rescued by the coast guard, and are seen leaving the island together, cuddling and looking traumatized. The episode ends with short clips of Trish, Sully, Danny, Booth, Malcolm, Chloe, Cal, Abby, and Henry talking into a hand-held camera congratulating Henry and Trish on the wedding. In the video clip, Henry never mentions Trish's name; and now that the story and motive is revealed it's clear that it isn't her that he plans on spending the rest of his life with.
