Sex & Nudity

  • Several passionate kisses between both Harley and the Joker and June and Flag. Harley dances on a pole and in a club, acts and dresses seductively, and is all about sex appeal. Flag mentions he was sleeping with a witch; Boomerang comments that "you know what they say about the crazy ones." The Joker asks an associate if he "wants" Harley.
  • A woman locked in a cage licks the bar of the cage seductively while talking to a male guard.
  • Suggestive dancing in a nightclub and passionate kissing; women dressed provocatively (including one of the female protagonists) and upper male nudity.
  • In the night club scene Harley Quinn pole dances (but she doesn't dance sexually)
  • Harley Quinn's clothing reveals A LOT of skin.
  • There are some moderate sex references, such as a female character being described as "the itch in my crotch" by a man.
  • A female character undresses in front of a group of men. While no clear nudity is shown, there is an emphasis on the onlookers and on exposed parts of her body.

Violence & Gore

  • There are scenes of violence, which mainly take the form of sustained battles featuring noisy, explosive action. Some violence is more personal, such as the cold-blooded shooting of a character. The most notable damage is incurred by an army of fantastical statue warriors which disintegrate into chunks and clouds of dust after veing hit. There is also a focus on weapons such as guns, knives and baseball bats throughout.
  • Little detail is shown during violence or its aftermath. However, in one scene a man's head explodes. While the explosion is not shown, his neck stump is briefly visible.
  • Lots of violence: people are assassinated/executed, shot, and killed instantly by both human and supernatural characters. Fights include a wide range of weapons, from boomerangs and baseball bats to military-grade explosives and automatic guns. Diablo sets fire to people and recalls losing control in a devastating tragedy. Characters die or are presumed killed.

Profanity

  • "Shit" is used 27 times; "goddamn" used 4 times; "bitch" used 6 times; "pussy" is used twice; "asshole" is used once. There's numerous casual profanities such as "damn", "ass", and "hell". Plus one use of "fucked" in a song
  • There is infrequent strong language ('f**k'), with milder bad language including uses of 'bitch', 'dickhead', 'balls', 'crap', 'shit' and 'ass'.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The Suicide Squad drinks together at a bar. Adults drink at the Joker's club.
  • Some alcohol use; no smoking or illegal; drugs, but government knocks out some prisoners with drugs to transport them.
  • Characters drink alcohol and smoke.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Severe mental dysfunction, lying, trash talking, being bad is sometimes extolled but so is changing oneself for the better, and murderous tendencies.
  • As the gang flies in a helicopter, they fly over a city where lots of buildings, cars and other things are on fire, exploding, or being destroyed by strange looking objects in the air. May be unsettling for some viewers.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • Enchantress (not in June Moon) is mostly scantily clad in the movie because of her costumes. They are not that revealing. Although she wears a double split skirt in both of her costumes they are not revealing. And in one scene in particular Junes boyfriend. Rick Flag sees her (human self) dead in a vision that she creates, she's seen laying in a hospital bed and she's only wearing a bra.
