10 Lynch is a wannabe devil-in-blazers while Lisa is her same old dry self
sashank_kini-121 March 2012
Fiona Wallice faces Claire Dudek (played by Glee favorite Jane Lynch), a volatile sales executive on probation for crushing her employee's 'useless' finger with a heavy paperweight. Claire is extremely on-the-move to care two hoots about the three minute therapy sessions and Fiona's drawling voice, she is to undergo and tolerate respectively, in order to be exonerated from the charges against her. She constantly fidgets with her mobile and keeps typing on the computer while Fiona tries to talk something. Fiona gets the better of her but she almost tastes defeat in the worthy rival she finds in Claire.

Problems creep up again in Web Therapy with Jane Lynch making her businesswoman Claire just too dry to tolerate. Most of her jokes fail because her preparation for the role is totally external and her she-devil avatar is just too flat. The movie 'Horrible Bosses' wasn't that good; however, all the villainous bosses were convincing and funny enough to pull through their act. Lynch's boss has elements of the two male bosses from the movie but she seems more like a wannabe bad boss than actually being one. She still rocks in Glee, though! Lisa again lags in her role, not bringing any color to her character at all. How are we supposed to love the main character when we only get a mirror version of her? Lisa spends most of the time mouthing all her lines in the same 'Phoebe' fashion, with a few facial expressions added so we don't mistaken her for a mannequin.

I really held high regards for the show when I watched Meryl Streep in it (Her Season 4 appearance was my first introduction to the show). Without Streep, the show seems to be on a losing streak. I shall however watch the other seasons to judge whether the show actually improved from Season 1 to Season 4.
