- Chuck encounters a scientist that may be able to remove the Intersect from his head, but the cost may be too steep. The Buy More crew take on their snobbish Beverly Hills counterparts.
- Chuck is contacted by Orion, the elusive co-designer of the Intersect, and overhears that the general wants him to help find him but won't allow removing the Intersect from his brain. The special computer Orion sends Chuck for safe contact is mistaken for a new game computer and hidden by the nerd herd, hence part of a lunatic conflict with Buy More's Beverly Hiils branch. Fulcrum is also after Orion, top agent Vincent Smith even faked his death to intrude the 'castle' as a corpse to capture Chuck, who must pretend it's safe to meet Orion but manages to leave a clue for Casey and Sara to rescue them.—KGF Vissers
- Chuck (Zachary Levi), Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and Casey (Adam Baldwin) return from a mission in which they posed as plumbers. "Have you heard anything about Beckman from Orion?" Chuck asks Sarah. "If we find Orion, maybe I could get all these secrets out of my head and go back to my normal life." The faux-girlfriend says she understands -- so why is she acting so cagey? Perhaps she can't bear the thought of losing Mr. Chuck Chuckles Bartowski. "Leave the search for Orion to the team of brilliant analysts," Sarah says.
But Chuck can't, of course. Relaxing in his bedroom, he studies the secret file that might or might not lead him to his maker (or, at least, the maker of his enhanced mind). The Chuckster then notices the camera on top of his monitor blinking. Is someone watching? Indeed, someone is. A mysterious man on a laptop in Hong Kong spies on our hero. Suddenly, the door bursts open and a Super-Scary Fulcrum agent appears. But the desk is now empty. "Alert Fulcrum," Scary Agent says. "Orion is gone."
Back at the Buy More, the geeks from the Beverly Hills store have strung toilet paper everywhere. They claim the prank is an intimidation tactic as both stores are competing to debut a new video-game computer. Just then, Chuck receives a message on the Nerd Herd computer. It's Orion! And the mysterious man says he will be sending a super-powerful computer to Chuck in the near future. Naturally, Lester (Vik Sahay) mistakes the delivery of Orion's computer for the new video-game model. "I'm Chuck," Lester tells the courier. He then retreats to the bathroom with Morgan (Joshua Gomez) and Jeff (Scott Krinsky) to examine the merchandise. "It's like nothing I've ever seen before!" Lester marvels. A prompt reads: "Pinpoint target for air support." Jeff suggests the Beverly Hills Buy More. Uh oh.
CUT TO a Cylon-looking Predator jet flying over Hollywood, about to bomb the hell out of the rival store. Chuck, watching the Predator on radar from below the yogurt shop, realizes EXACTLY who is pulling the strings. Chuck bursts into the men's bathroom. "You have to stop playing with that computer right now!" he screams. Chuck takes the computer and manages to call off the airstrike at the last second. Phew. But all is not perfect. Big Mike (Mark Christopher Lawrence) notices the Nerd Herd emerging from the bathroom and also mistakes the laptop for the sought-after gaming hardware. He puts Emmett (Tony Hale) in charge of guarding it.
Later that night, Chuck and his spy buddies emerge from the floor of the Buy More, intent on stealing back the computer. Emmett, meanwhile, patrols the dark store. Naturally, Lester and Jeff are also dressed in black and sneaking around the displays and racks of DVDs. Just when you think it couldn't get anymore crowded with dudes and dudettes in black stocking caps, none other than Scary Fulcrum Agent (wearing a black stocking cap) repels into the store. Chuck spots him and has an INTERSECT moment! Morgan and Lester, caught by Emmett, flee. Casey then knocks out Emmett cold. "That felt good," Casey quips. Seconds later, the Scary Fulcrum Agent emerges holding Chuck at gunpoint. Casey pulls his gun and disarms the bad guy! But before our heroes get any answers, the agent eats a poison pill. "I really didn't need to see that," Chuck says.
So Chuck has finally retrieved the computer, but the General (Bonita Friedericy) orders him NOT to open it. "My analysts believe you walked into a Fulcrum trap," the General says. "My NSA technicians will inspect the computer." Chuck pleads with the General to reconsider, but she doesn't want to hear. In fact, the General is on her way to personally oversee the remainder of the operation. "Hopefully, I won't have to shut down Operation Bartowski," she says. Chuck isn't buying any of it. "I am certain Orion is NOT Fulcrum," he tells Sarah and Casey. Their response: Go to your room. So Bartowski does and Orion promptly calls. The doctored voice tells Chuck to get the computer back at all costs. Worse: "You can't trust them," Orion says of Sarah and Casey. Chuck sees a feed of Sarah agreeing to keep Chuck away from Orion. Our hero is heartbroken.
But not so heartbroken he doesn't agree to meet Orion at a nearby address. Suddenly, Scary Fulcrum Agent appears with a gun! "You're not dead!" Chuck exclaims. Apparently not. Turns out the man has one helluva resistance to poison. Chuck is led out at gunpoint (again) but not before Sarah notices activity on a security cam. Chuck manages to turn the computer monitor so the team can see the address Orion sent. Good thinking, Chuckster!
CUT TO a darkened room, where Chuck is being interrogated by the Scary Fulcrum Agent. "Orion came out of the cold for you," the agent says. "What's your secret?" But Chuck doesn't get a chance to answer as Orion has appeared outside! "Take him," Scary Agent whispers into wrist mic. Just then, dozens of Fulcrum agents emerge and drag away Orion. Casey and Sarah arrive seconds later -- but too late to save our hero. Sarah shoots through the window, killing (we hope) the Scary Fulcrum Agent. Orion, meanwhile, has been loaded onto a helicopter. Casey notices a Predator in route. "He's trying to take himself out!" Chuck says. Sure enough, the Predator shoots the heli out of the sky. Chuck screams. Is his only chance to have the Intersect removed from his head now raining all over Burbank? Back at headquarters, the General explains it's "better Orion didn't fall into Fulcrum's hands." Moreover: "I can't lose you, Chuck," she says. "It's time you became a spy."
Chuck returns to his bedroom to find a series of discs and blueprints under his pillow. He inserts one of the discs and the mysterious face of Orion appears. The creator explains if Chuck has received the package, something terrible has happened (like getting blown up in a helicopter, for example). "You will need to understand the computer if you want to get the Intersect out of your head," Orion says. Sarah enters and Chuck immediately hides the package. Maybe Orion was right. Maybe he can't trust his fake girlfriend.
Evidently, Chuck isn't the only one who distrusts Sarah. The General asks Casey for his files including his unedited notes. This doesn't look good....
