Essentially my favorite of the Godzilla episodes, perhaps because it didn't have the totally fabricated monster for Godzilla to spar with (a previous giant monster consisted of nothing more than it and Godzilla going back and forth in circles).

Perhaps it was also because I discovered the gumball machine with the 'life-like' rubber spiders, grasshoppers and wasps, perfect size for action figures and toy people of the time.

So the plan was for their plane to crash on the island and have to fight off the giants, but I never managed to get past the plane crash for some reason.

On Godzilla, we get some fairly simple explanation of the sudden growth of the animals, but in truth, if the simple solution was (Oh, Spoilers) using cold water to make the giant animals reduce back in size, it seems like once they hit some cooler ocean depths, they would shrink again.

But as Carl Majors kept declaring, the giants ran a risk of getting into the 'shipping lanes'.

Okay, we can abide that.

Still the episode was fun, mainly for the humans heroics; having to corral the animals and get test samples of the purple liquid coming up from the volcano.

By far the strangest one still stands as the flying manta ray making the eagle sound, but still a fun episode, aside from the fact it completely bypassed a giant shark. Go figure.

And this was AFTER Jaws.

I accidentally listed this as Valley of the Giants, which I assumed it would be, but the title of the episode shown was Macro-Beasts. Now I wonder what Valley of the Giants was about?
